"You think you deserve friends? You're as much of a monster as I am my little aqua." She sneered down at my cowering form. My seven-year-old self was crying silent tears and regretting asking for a chance to go outside and make friends. "From what I remember, it was your fault your family died. Why should you have friends when you caused your own families deaths?" She leaned back, happy to get her point across. "It wasn't my fault! I-I didn't, I mean, I tried." I sob and curl up into a ball.

She glares at me, probably because I yelled at her, before turning to a deadly looking plant. "Still doesn't change the fact that they are dead and you are mine. I'm never letting you go. If you somehow manage to leave here, who would want you? You're an orphan with uncontrollable powers. The only person who will accept you, is me." She starts chuckles which turns into a sinister laugh. I cover my ears to try and drown her out. She's wrong! She has to be, I don't want to be alo-

"Azure!" Kaldur's voice breaks through my nightmare memory. I sit up quickly and look around. Kaldur was looking at me worriedly with his hand on my shoulder. "You were crying." He said softly, making me realize there were tears running down my face. I hastily brush them away and look at my lap. I guess I must have fallen asleep in the team lounge while watching a movie. "Bad dream?" Kaldur asks, sitting next to me after i curl my legs into my chest. "Bad memory." I choke up, trying not to revisit the memory.

"You don't have to talk about it. But if the time comes where you do want to talk to someone about anything. I will always listen." Kaldur says with a sincere expression. I take a shaky breath and nod, looking away from him. "Thank you Kaldur." I say, not ready to tell him about my time with her. I didn't want to lose him.

"Want to come with me to the hub? Red Arrow is gonna need intelligence for his mission and I offered to help." Kaldur says as he stands up and extends a hand to me. I hesitate before taking his hand and standing up. "Won't he be mad if I help?" I ask as we let go of each other and walk to the hub. "If he is, he'll have to get over it." We get there right as Kaldur's communicator beeps. "Aqualad and Azure." I'm surprised he mentioned me specifically and walk to center of the console so we can open up the screens.

"Red Arrow. I need access to the Justice League's database. And the exact height of the League of Shadows assassin known as Cheshire." Came the arrogant voice of Red Arrow. "Why is she with you? I thought she didn't want to be a part of the team." Red Arrow asks while Kaldur checks the information he wants. "She's very useful and I'm making progress in getting her to join." Kaldur smiles at me at his comment. I roll my eyes playfully, even though he can only see one of my eyes, and shake my head. "You mean you're wearing me down cause you ask everyday? Then yeah. Progress." I laugh softly

"Cheshire is 1.67 meters." Kaldur tells Red Arrow once the computer pulls up the information. "Um.." Red arrow's voice comes through. "She's 5'6." I say helpfully. "And exceptionally dangerous. Do you require backup?" Kaldur chimes in. "Please. The last thing I need is the Junior Justice League and his side project." Red Arrow sneers. "Just our computer. Good luck, my friend. Aqualad out." Kaldur says as he closes the computer screens.

"Side project? Is that how people see me?" I ask softly, fidgeting my hands. "Don't let Red Arrow get to you. It takes time to understand him and to earn his respect." Kaldur says giving me a kind smile. I smile back, fighting off a blush. "Megan and Superboy start school today. Let's go see them off." Kaldur offers gesturing down the hall. "Sure. I bet Megan is excited." We walk to the garage and meet up with Tornado, Martian Manhunter, and Megan who were on their way as well.

"You excited?" I ask Megan quietly as we walk in front of the group. Megan was smiling widely and I had a feeling she was going to be like that all day. "My first day at a human school! I can't wait. You sure you don't want to attend school with us?" She asks me, looking at me worriedly, like she was leaving me out of the best thing in the world. "I'm sure Megan. School isn't for me. Besides, we wouldn't be in the same grade so I would have no friends." I assure her as we reach the garage.
