Y/N - your name

I smile as I look at my best friend, Sam, in her wedding dress. She sighs nervously as she looks at me through the mirror. "Do I look alright?" She asked as I scoffed. "Is the pope catholic?" I asked as she smiled at me. "I'm just..." "Nervous." I finished off her sentence as she nodded. I stood up and stood next to her, "There's no need to be. Lando loves you. He definitely will be standing at the end of that aisle." I said as she smiled at me. "I love you." She said as she hugged me. "I love you too." I said as I heard her sniff.

"Don't you dare cry!" I shouted as I pulled away. She gave me a smile, tears threatening to come down. "Don't you dare ruin your makeup which I did." I said as she laughed. "Oh Y/N." she said as I looked at her. "You look amazing. Charles has missed out." She said as I gave her a small smile.

Charles and I broke up about 3 months ago. It wasn't a smooth break up. Whilst we were dating, he had trust issue. Charles previous ex cheated on him so he was very paranoid when it came to me going anywhere without him. He would often start arguments with me because of this which I couldn't take. He broke up with me one day but with all the fighting, I understood why but that didn't mean that I wasn't beyond heartbroken. I'm still madly in live with him.

We were together for a year, which was a milestone for me as I am terrible with relationships. "Thanks Sam." I said she smiled at me. "Will he be here today?" I asked as she smirked at me. She knows I'm in love with him but I refuse to admit that to her. "I'm asking because he knows Lando." I rolled my eyes as she looked at me up and down. "Sure." She said as I scoffed.

"I'm not too sure. Lando did invite him but he may have decided not to come because of you." She said as I nodded. I had mix feelings about him coming. I didn't want to face him but I wanted to see him again and possibly patch things up. I sigh as she gives me a small smile. "It's going to be okay." She said as I gave her a sad smile.

"Hey girlies! Is the bride and maid of honor ready?" Sam's mother asked as we smiled. "Yes we are! Are you ready to become Mrs Norris?" I asked Sam as she nodded and gave me a big smile. She walked out first as I looked at myself in the mirror. I smile, satisfied with how the long blue dress hugged my curves and my hair lightly curled added dimension to my face. I sigh, nervous myself as I wasn't sure if I would see Charles or not. I walk out and catch up with the rest of the brides maids.

Soon enough, we are at the reception. I stand next to Sam as she taps her foot nervously. "I'm sorry Papa couldn't be here." I said as she smiled at me. "It's okay. I know that he is watching from above and plus, I think he's more than happy that you're walking me down the aisle instead." She said as I smiled at her.

One by one, the bride maids walked in as I linked my right arm into Sam's left. "Ready future Mrs Norris?" I asked as she nodded. "As ready as I'll ever be." She said as I smiled at her. The classic wedding song played as we walked into the reception. Everyone stood up as they all smiled at Sam. She looked absolutely stunning in her mermaid dress and her lace vail.

I look at Lando as I could see he was tearing up ever so slightly. I look over to the left and my eyes link with the one person I dreaded to see, Charles. We stare each other down until I look away, heart racing and tears threatening to stream down my face. I refused to ruin Sam's day so I sucked in a shark breath and looked forward. "I saw him too." Sam whispered as I looked at her. "I can see he still loves you Y/N." she said as we made it to the front.

I smiled at her as we parted ways, standing off to the left of her. I sigh as one of the brides maids, Yashika, pats my shoulder obviously spotting Charles as she also knew. To be fair, the whole world knew about our break up and was devastated to say the least. I smile as Lando and Sam link hands together and start the ceremony.

The ceremony didn't take long and finally it was party time. I ran over to Sam and gave her a big hug. "You're fucking Sam Norris!" I shouted as she laughed. "I'm so happy." I said as she gave me another hug. "Thanks for being by my side through thick and thin. Through love and heartbreak and finally for my wedding day." She said as I gave her a soft smile. "Thank you too Sam." I said as she smiled at me.

"Now go and have fun for Christ sakes." She said as she lightly pushed me towards the bar. I smile at her as I go and order a drink. Whilst I wait, I feel a pair of eyes burn into my back. I look back and see Charles staring at me. He was wearing a navy blue suite with his hair lightly gelled back. I gave him a small smile as I grabbed my drink that the bartender brought me and walked outside. I needed fresh air.

I sit down on a bench, close to a lake, and stare off into the abyss. Lost in my own world. I sigh as I remember the night myself and Charles broke up. Possibly the most painful day for my life. I was in love with him. I thought we would marry each other one day. I really thought he was the one but sometime in life, you're wrong. Oh so very wrong.

"Hey." A familiar voice says behind me. I look to be met with the blue ones of Charles. "Hey." I said softly as I looked back at the lake. "Can I sit?" He asked as I nodded. I felt him sit next to me as he looked at the lake. It was silent for quite awhile until he broke it, "I miss you." He said as I sighed. I missed him too but I didn't want to tell him that. "Charles, we broke up for a reason." I said as I shook my head.

"Well, it was for the wrong reason. I'm so sorry that I was so paranoid and didn't trust you. I don't know what came over me. I just..." he trailed off as I waited for his response. "I was afraid." He finally spilled as I looked at him. "Afraid of what?" I asked as he shook his head. "I was afraid I was gonna lose you. You were so busy with work and you barely spoke to me. I guess I just thought... you lost interest." He said as he looked back at the lake.

I sigh, angry that he has told me this. I just wanted to believe that he didn't love me anymore. I didn't want to hear this. "Well, I never lost interest. I actually couldn't get you off of my mind. You were constantly there. Every break I had, I would just think about our memories that we had and look back at old pictures. I didn't bother calling because I knew you were busy. I loved you Charles." I said as he looked at me. "Loved?" He questioned as I nodded.

"You don't love me?" He asked as I scoffed. "Of course I love you Charles! I never stopped loving you even when you left me!" I shouted at him. I sigh, angry with what I just said. Why did I have to be so stupid and think I still stood a chance? "I need to go." I said as I stood up. "Wait!" I heard Charles say but I didn't. He grabbed my wrist as he forced me to look at him.

"Please don't go." He said as he pulled me close and smashed his lips onto mine. I was shocked but melted into his kiss, missing his lips on mine. Our lips moved in sync as his hands gripped my waist hard, not letting me go this time around. We pulled away as he stared at me. "Please give me a second chance?" He asked as I looked down. "How can I say no to you?" I said as I gave him a small smile.
