bus
/bʌs/
noun
a large motor vehicle carrying passengers by road, typically one serving the public on a fixed route and for a fare.

Y/N - your name

I sign the board at the reception, indicating I was leaving my work after a very long shift. "Bye Y/N! Have a great evening." My colleague, Rebecca, says to me as I smile at her tiredly. "Thank you. You too." I say waving her goodbye. I walk out of the restaurant and sigh, knowing I had to take the bus home.

I wasn't a fan of the bus, plainly because of how over crowded it was. Despite it being 8pm, I know it's still gonna be crowded and I always somehow ended up next to a weird creep that was very much overweight and always fell asleep on me. Call it a curse.

I make my way to the bus stop, knowing the bus would be here any minute. I wait a few minutes. Whilst waiting, I get out my earphones and plug them into my phone. I chose a random playlist off of Spotify and press play but stopping it so that I could officially start it when I'm on the bus. Within minutes the bus arrives and I get in the bus, dreading who I would sit next to today.

As expected, the bus was jam packed. So much so, I thought I would have to stand until I saw an empty seat near the back. I make my way there to be greeted by a kind looking man, possibly in his early twenties. He looks up at me and smiles kindly, "Can I sit here?" I question with a shy smile. "Of course you can." He says, his French accent prominent. I thank him and sit down, pressing play to my playlist as soon as the bus starts moving.

I am beyond relieved that I'm not sitting next to a fat guy and rather sitting next to a pretty good looking guy. As I jamming to the song "Popstar", I feel a soft tap on my shoulder. I look at the young man and pull out my earphones. "Sorry, is it too loud?" I question as I feel my cheeks heat up. "No, not at all. I just wanted to say how funny it is that we are listening to the same song." He says showing me his phone.

I chuckle softly and notice that we are listening to the same playlist. "Same playlist even." I say making his eyes go wide. "Wow, what a coincidence." He says with a shy smile. "I'm Pierre by the way." He says outstretching his hand. "I'm y/n." I say gladly taking his hand and shaking it. "That's a really beautiful name." He says making my cheeks heat up despite the cool autumn air.

"Thank you. Your names pretty unique, well, at least in the U.K." I say making him laugh. "Yeah, I can't say that I've met many Pierre's in England." He says whilst chuckling softly. "So Y/N, what do you do?" He asks me. "I'm a waitress at a restaurant but I'm mainly studying engineering." I say making his eyes go wide. "Seriously? That's so cool." He says, making me blush at the fact that he was interested in anything that I had to say.

"And yourself, Pierre?" I question as I turn more in my seat to face him and pull out my earphone, enjoying this conversation with a cute guy more than my rap playlist. "Well, I don't think you'll believe me but I drive really fast cars." He says as I chuckle. "How fast?" I question with my eyebrows raised. "Like 300km fast cars." He says. "Okay so not NASCAR." I say making him laugh. "I drive formula 1 cars." He says as my eyes open wide.

"That's so cool. I would love to work for an F1 team one day." I say as he nods. "If you say the right words, I could make that happen." He says making us laugh loudly. People turn back to us and stare but we don't mind, enjoying our chat way too much. "I don't actually watch F1 that much. Been way to busy with studying but I knew you looked familiar." I say as he nods.

"Or, you're a massive fan and I'm your crush and you just don't wanna admit it." He says with a smirk. "Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night." I say making him laugh loudly. "Wow, your laugh is amazing." I say, laughing at his laugh. "It's unique that's for sure." He says as I nod, "100%. Can't say I've met anyone much like you in the U.K." I say as he nods. "Can't say I've met anyone like you either. But I'm glad for that." He's says with a sweet smile.

"How so?" I ask as I screw my eyebrow. "Cause you're cute." He says making my cheeks heat up. As I'm about to speak, there is an announcement on the bus, "Stop off in London Square in 2 minutes. Please get any luggage and all belongings ready to exit the bus." I sigh, "That's my stop off." I say as I visibly see his smile drop. "Could I maybe get your number? I know I'm just a stranger on a bus but after my shit day, you're the only person who has made me smile somehow." He says making me blush.

"Of course and same goes to you. Work was beyond just tiring today." I say as I hand him my phone as he does for me. We exchange numbers and finally the bus comes to a holt. "See you soon, Pierre." I say as I stand up, "Je te verrai bientôt belle." (I will see you soon beautiful) He says making me scoff, "I don't speak French." "Then I guess we will never know." He says with a smirk.

"Touché Mr Pierre." I say as I walk away. "Goodbye Y/N." he says as I look back at him. "Goodbye Pierre." I say as I exit the bus with a massive smile on my face.
