"Yeonjun~... Yeonjunnie.... Ugh! Why do kids only like Hyung!" Jungkook pouted and glared at the toddler who was cuddled up to Taehyung. The family, along with Haejoon and the Jungs, were seated in the living room and Jungkook was mad because Yeonjun would only go to Taehyung.
Everyone laughed and brushed off his frustration since he'd end up going to play with Jihoon anyway. Taehyung had not only Yeonjun but also Yeji on his lap. It was true, kids love him.
"So you guys are going to adopt him?" Hoseok asked, attempting to pry Yeji away from Taehyung only to fail and end up with a screaming child. Yeonjun flinched when she yelled, he hated loud noises.
"Yes, of course. We have to meet with a caseworker tomorrow while the boys are at school to make sure he is in a suitable home, so we aren't worried about anything," Namjoon said, a smile plastered on his face while he watched Yeonjun play with Taehyung's earring.
He hasn't spoken a word yet and was very shy and reserved. He stayed with Taehyung the entire day and would only look at everyone else.
"Boys, and Yeji, why don't you guys go play upstairs now," Seokjin said, all of them knowing it wasn't up for debate if they wanted to, so all 7 of them made their way upstairs.
"Now that they're gone, I have a question," Yoongi speaks up. "Do you think Hyerin abused him or neglected him? He's fairly small for a 3-year-old, he doesn't speak, he won't let anyone but Tae hold him, and he looked scared when Yeji yelled. It could be coincidental and he might just be shy, but I know I wasn't the only one who noticed." The room went silent.
Of course, Namjoon had those thoughts, hell, he used to be married to Hyerin, so he knew what she could be like. And those 12 years ago when she said she never wanted her kids and was only staying for the money, of course, he wouldn't put it past her to neglect Yeonjun, especially with the way she just left him with a couple of teenagers at a cafe.
"He... could have been... I know how Hyerin can be, so I wouldn't put it past her, but I don't know. He won't talk, I don't even know if he knows how to talk," Namjoon sighed. Then another thought popped in his head and he groaned.
"What about tomorrow when Taehyung has to go to school? Yeonjun won't let Taehyung leave the room for 30 seconds, let alone leave the house for 8 hours."
"Can't we take Taehyung with us? It's his first day with a ton of new people, at least he's taken a liking to one of us," Seokjin asked. Neither of them wanted Taehyung to miss school, but if it was the only way, then so be it.
"We'll see how he is in the morning and then we'll decide," Seokjin nodded at his husband.
"You guys are staying for dinner, so I'm going to start cooking," Seokjin smiled at their friends before going to the kitchen and preparing dinner.
"Kids! Come eat!" The eldest male yelled up the stairs. Soon a stampede of footsteps was heard coming down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Taehyung, let me hold Yeonjun while you eat," Namjoon offered.Taehyung nodded and handed Yeonjun to Namjoon. He stared at the man wide-eyed and frozen in his arms. The toddler frowned and began tearing up at the unfamiliar man.
"Yeonnie, it's ok. You're ok, Bub. Appa's got you," It's been a while since Namjoon calmed down a child this young, but it was nothing new to him. Yeonjun sniffled and wrapped his arms around Namjoon's neck, burying his face in the crook of his neck in the process.
"A-Appa." Namjoon was shocked at what he heard. It wasn't that Yeonjun called him Appa, it was the fact that he spoke, even if it was just an almost inaudible whisper, it was something. Namjoon smiled and kissed the boy's head before sitting down and eating with everyone else.
"Taehyung, we may need you to come with us tomorrow if Yeonjun is uneasy in the morning," Seokjin said as he cleaned the kitchen. Everyone had left, except for Haejoon, (Seokjin and Namjoon said he could stay the night) and Taehyung was helping clean the kitchen. Namjoon was with Yeonjun and was helping him pick out pajamas.
"Ok, but what if he's ok in the morning but not during the day?"
"I'm not picking you up if that happens, he seems to like Namjoon so if anything happens I'm sure he can calm him down," Taehyung nodded and finished helping his dad before going upstairs to his room.
He smiled when he saw Jimin and Haejoon asleep, Jimin having a death grip on the older boy as he slept. Taehyung changed and went to JungKook's room. When he entered, Yeonjun looked up and smiled widely and reached out for Taehyung. He had his pajama pants on, but only his head and half of his left arm in the shirt.
"Hi, Bub. Let me help you," Yeonjun didn't say anything and just let Taehyung help.
"You wanna sleep in Kookie's room?" The toddler tilted his head as if he were thinking. He didn't answer, so Taehyung laid him down on the bottom bunk.
Yeonjun looked up at Taehyung and frowned when he saw him about to leave the room. He whimpered and reached out for Taehyung again.
"Yeonnie," Taehyung smiled sadly and picked him up."You wanna sleep with TaeTae-Hyung?" When he felt a little nod against his shoulder, he laid down on the bottom bunk and let Yeonjun cuddle up to him. He smiled when he heard soft snores. He looked down seeing how peaceful Yeonjun looked. He couldn't help but wonder if he had ever been at peace while living with their so-called mother.
Hello :) sorry it's kinda short, I just started school so I've been busy •-• also, I noticed I always end a chapter with them sleeping 😂
