The morning Jungkook and Jimin were off to school, Namjoon and Seokjin drove to meet with a social worker about Yeojun's situation. Hyerin had provided all paperwork needed to give up custody of him, and the Kim's had been through the adoption process when Seokjin adopted the boys.
Namjoon pulled up at the social worker's office and sat in his car waiting for his husband. He turned around to see Yeonjun giggling and pulling at the curls in Taehyung's hair. The older boy didn't mind since he had a high pain tolerance, plus Yeonjun wasn't pulling very hard.
"Yeonnie," Namjoon said, catching the attention of the giggling toddler.
"Hm?" He let go of his Hyung's hair and looked at Namjoon.
"Appa and Daddy have to meet with someone, and they may ask you to talk a little, ok? Taehyungie-hyung will be with you and so will me and Daddy, so if he asks you to talk, will you do that for Appa?" Namjoon didn't want to force the kid into speaking if he didn't want to, but it would be beneficial if he did.
Yeonjun was quiet for a minute, trying to process everything in his tiny brain. He soon nodded and gave Namjoon a small smile before reaching over and grabbing Taehyung's hand.
"Thank you, Bub," Namjoon smiled and turned back around, waiting for Seokjin to arrive.
When he did arrive, the four of them walked into the building. It was a fairly boring looking building, well, in Taehyung's opinion it was. It had gray walls and white furniture with black and white decor around the lobby. Taehyung would have preferred some more color, but he wouldn't be there long.
(I'm making like all this shit up cause idk how any of this works so um yeah just go along with it 😂)
"Mr. Kim," Both Namjoon and Seokjin looked up to see a well-dressed man with dark hair and glasses standing near them.
"Good morning, Mr. Kang," Namjoon stood and shook the social worker's hand. He nodded and shook Seokjin's hand.
"Shall we go to my office?" Namjoon nodded and followed Mr. Kang, along with Seokjin, Taehyung, and Yeonjun.
When they reached the office Namjoon and Seokjin sat in the chairs in front of the large desk while Mr. Kang went around and sat in his chair. Taehyung sat in the corner of the room to keep Yeonjun company while the adults spoke about the issue.
It took a while, but they eventually got all the legal stuff sorted out and done with, Namjoon and Seokjin would have to court to get everything finalized and signed.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to talk to Yeonjun. If I could get some information on Hyerin, we could possibly get her arrested, it just depends on what she did to Yeonjun," Mr. Kang said, and the couple nodded.
"Yeonnie, come here, Bub," Seokjin called softly. Yeonjun stood up and walked over to Seokjin, looking up at him with doe eyes.
"Hm?"
"Mr. Kang wants to talk with you, is that alright?" Yeonjun frowned and looked at the man who was leaning slightly against his desk. He pouted and ran back to Taehyung, burying his face in his Hyung's neck.
"Tae, come here," Namjoon stood and gestured for Taehyung to sit in the seat. The teen did as told and stood, placing Yeonjun on his lap after he sat down.
"Bub, Mr. Kang is nice, remember what Appa said in the car?" Namjoon ran his fingers through Yeonjun's dark hair as the boy looked up at him and nodded.
"Do you remember what you said?" Yeonjun nodded again, this time turning around in Taehyung's lap to face the social worker. The toddler grabbed Taehyung's hand while staring at the strange man in front of him. Mr. Kang smiled softly and removed his glasses.
"Hi, Yeonjun. I'm Mr. Kang, I just want to talk to you about your mommy ok?" Yeonjun frowned and looked down at Taehyung's hand.
"I no like mommy..."
"Why not, Sweetheart?" Yeonjun frowned more and took a deep breath.
"Mommy no like me! She leave Yeonjun with other girl!"
"What did mommy do when she left you with another girl?" Mr. Kang made sure to write down what the toddler was saying.
"Mommy goed with uh... boys. They yell at Yeojun....," The toddler's bottom lip wobbled a little and he squeezed Taehyung's finger.
"I cwy cause they loud and mean! Boy took bear! An sometines, Mama would say bye-bye fowr uh... um... couple day? Yeonjun no eat too," Yeonjun shrugged and cuddled into his Hyung's chest.
No one expected what they heard, nor did they expect him to talk as much as he did. Mr. Kang finished writing and cleared his throat.
"Thank you, Yeonjun. You helped so much," Mr. Kang offered a soft smile to the toddler before facing Namjoon and Seokjin.
"I will see what I can do to get justice for him and put her away. As for Yeonjun... has he ever flinched at something or cried for an unknown reason?" Namjoon and Seokjin looked at each other before looking back at Mr. Kang and nodding.
"He flinches at loud noises and he usually won't let anyone but Taehyung and occasionally me hold him," The younger of the couple answered.
"He may have PTSD. I would like to say it's rare to see in a child his age, but I've seen many cases where small children were traumatized. It's too early to tell, so you need to keep a close eye on him. He looks very small for his age, so try to get him to eat and make sure he gets enough sleep," Namjoon and Seokjin nodded, making mental notes of everything Mr. Kang was saying.
"Also, try not to expose him to loud noises, specifically yelling. I don't have much advice for the separation anxiety, because it seems your older son has school and you two work."
"I own a cafe, so I'm home a lot. Yeonjun could stay with me during the day, but he prefers Namjoon and Taehyung," Seokjin added.
"I see. Well, try to get him comfortable with everyone in the family. You said you have 2 other sons, correct? If he is comfortable with all of you, it will help him mentally and emotionally. I've also noticed his speech was a bit off, but from what you've told me he doesn't talk much, so that could be part of the issue. Try getting him to talk more and if his vocabulary doesn't improve, you may need to put him in speech therapy," Mr. Kang explained a few more things before allowing the family to go.
"I'm gonna stop by the cafe, then I'll be home," Seokjin said once they were in the parking lot.
"Ok, I'll meet you at home," Namjoon was about to lean in and kiss Seokjin when Taehyung pushed himself between them.
"Haejoon just texted me saying Jimin's crying and wants one of you to pick them up." The couple frowned and looked down at their son.
"I'll pick them up. Take them home and I'll see you soon," Seokjin pecked Namjoon's lips and rushed to his car. On the way to the school, he called Haejoon's mother, filling her in on the situation. Mrs. Lee allowed Haejoon to leave with the Kims. The whole way to the school, all Seokjin wondered was why his baby was crying.
