However in order to do this, ash's unfinished business had to be fulfilled. next ash, had to learn he was dead and accept that. after that a spell had to be chanted on the blood moon ellipse to release him from his chains. Only then could ash be freed from being stuck on earth. Mewtwo also needed to apologize to ash.
