"Mommy I sleepy" Aria said walking in the living room as I sat there watching Love and Hip hop.
"Okay c'mere" I said holding my arms out for her to walk into them. I picked her up and let her lay on my chest.
I looked down at my phone seeing it was 11 making me sigh. I should've been put her to bed, but I was caught up in my show.
"Mommy?" Aria said catching my attention.
"Yes baby?" I asked and she frowned.
"Bailey and Khloe have daddies why me not have one?" she said and I felt my heart drop.
"I not have a daddy" she said and I frowned.
"Wha— baby you have a daddy okay? He's not here in person but he's always gonna be in here" I said pointing to her heart.
"Will he come back?" she asked and I felt my lip tremble. I felt a tear fall out my eye making her cry with me.
"No no, Aria don't cry mama. Mommy doesn't like to see you sad" I said wiping her face.
"Daddy is on vacation for a very long time, we can only see pictures of him to keep him in your memory" I said and she sniffled.
"Okay" she said wiping her face laying her head back on me. I rocked her to sleep, still in a daze thinking about Tre.
Flashback
"Boy what you know bout this?" I said as we sat in my car listening to Dru Hill at around 10:00 at night.
"Girl I know all about Dru Hill— but we're not making love no more, we're not even trying to change" he sang making me smile.
I rested my legs on him just admiring his presence. He ran his hand on my leg while looking over at me.
"You gifted as fuck. Believe it or not but yo ass can sing" I said and he sucked his teeth shaking his head.
"Mane you and my mama always say that shit" he laughed. I chuckled then took a sip of my slushee I got from sonic.
Sonic food nasty asf, only they slushes slap, bye.
"Cause it's true, you think I'd lie?" I said then he twisted his lips.
"I'll take yo word fa it" he said then it became silent.
"How many niggas you been in love with?" he asked me and I sighed.
"Really?" I asked and he laughed making me laugh.
"Nah for real, i'm just trynna get to know you better" he said and I nodded before finally answering the question.
"Only one..Cedrick Fields was my first ever boyfriend. Long live my dawg" I said pointing at the sky.
"Damn, sorry fa yo loss" he spoke genuinely.
"Thanks... do you ever think about the after life?" I asked him and he nodded before speaking.
"All the damn time, I hope I do right by God. Cause I already pictured my life in heaven... chilling up there with John Witherspoon and shit" he said and I shook my head.
"You think you gone be here in the long run?" I asked and he looked me in my eyes.
"I don't know, let's rock out till death call my name shawty" he said and I shook my head with a tear dropping.
"Ion think ima be able to do it" I said and he picked my chin up.
"Do what?"
"Hold it the fuck down while you gone. I don't wanna have to grieve again for somebody I have love for" I said and he smirked.
"Love.. you love me girl?" he said and I sucked my teeth.
"That's the only thing you got outta that?" I said slapping his chest and he laughed.
"Hell yea, ain't no point in crying over some shit that ain't even happen yet. Just vibe wimme ma" he said and I sighed.
"I love you too pumpkin" he said and I blushed at the name.
Flashback over
I looked down at Aria who was sound asleep. I kissed her forehead caressing her cheek then smiled at the creation Tre and I made.
I picked her up then walked towards her room placing her in her bed. I put the cover over her then walked towards my room.
I laid down on the bed then let sleep take over my body.
10:33 am
Aria and I were at Walmart stocking back up on groceries, since my food stamp card looking good asf.
"Mommy goldfish?" Aria asked and I nodded putting it in the basket then continued to push the basket down the isle.
Once I turned me and a basket bumped into each other. I looked up and apologized quickly.
"You're okay.... Andrea right?" the girl said and I awkwardly smiled.
"Sorry do I know you?" I asked and she laughed.
"Jerika, I was your boyfriends assistant. Sorry for your loss though" she said and I sighed.
"Yeah, thanks.." I mumbled.
"Don't you also work at Claws?" she asked and I nodded.
"Mm you did your research on me huh?" I fake laughed and she chuckled.
"No, no nothing like that, I just was being nice ya know.. trynna get to know new people" she said and I sent her a nod.
"Maybe we can catch up, get to know each other" she said handing me a card.
Ik she ain gimme a damn card.
"Sure" I lied then grabbed the cart and began walking away towards the milk.
