"How can you be sure?" The man with the black wings came up. "She could just be unconscious." But Melody was already shaking her head.
"No. She's stone cold. And my magic cam let me feel her emotions and..." She started to cry harder. "I can't feel any emotions from her! And I know that my magic is working!"
"Well how can you tell? It's probably not working at all."
That got me under my skin. "Leave her alone!" I yelled out.
He turned to look at me. "Stay out of this, Lover Boy. It's obvious that she did it. She was the closest one."
"But anyone here could've done it! Everyone is at fault here!" Err.. Reiji. This means that you're at fault too. Oops. But it's late now. I'll prove my innocence.
The man dressed in blue came in between us. "He's right. In fact, you could've done it, since your wings help you fly fast." He had a faint British accent of a mil (A/N slang for a thousand years ago).
Black wings scoffed. "That means you're a suspect too."
Blue stiffened, shaking his back. Out of his back came black wings that I didn't see before. "Aw, bloody hell, you're right. Oh well, I'll prove my innocence later. Besides, my wings are prettier than yours."
There was a tense atmosphere between the two, but it was interrupted when one of the twins got in between them.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, you two! Anyone else notice that there's a murderer on the loose, or is that just me? Either way, can't we just say that we're all innocent until proven guilty? Let's stop fighting and find the real killer!"
"Nicely put, Zae," his twin said.
"Let's investigate the body first!" Zae went over to Ultear's body and touched her, which caused her body to float a foot or two in the air. I'd guess that that's part of his magic.
He looked her up and down. "Strange. No blood or open wounds, nor is there a bruise at all on her body. But wait, what's this?"
He opened her hand, in which a piece of paper fell out. He opened it, slowly lowering Ultear to the ground. "This is for the murder of Evil, " he read out loud.
I was certainly surprised. What did it mean? Idiot, it means that the killer wants to destroy evil itself. They probably think that we're all evil. Daichi, for the last time, I know that I'm stupid compared to you!
We all went closer to Zae, trying to read the note ourselves. "What does it mean?" Melody murmured.
"Err." Everyone's eyes went toward me. "I think that the killer wants to destroy evil itself. Maybe he or she thinks that we're all evil."
Zae nods. "That makes total sense. After all, I was the most evil person from where I come from."
Huh? But Zae was motioning to all of us. "Make a circle everyone!"
That's what we did. On my left I had the lady with the kimono, and on my right I had Black Wings.
Zae cleared his throat. "We're going to introduce ourselves and say what we think we did that made tons of people mad at us. First of all, let's get things straight. I can see little things called the Rook, and they will tell me when you're lying." He laid his hand palm up and stretched a finger out. I think something was supposed to land there, but I didn't see anything.
The half dressed man with the wand perked up. "Hold up, old man! You can see the Rukh too? No wonder they're acting weird around you."
"Old men," Zae's brother corrected. "I can see them too. I guess they are called different things in different worlds."
