"WHAT!!!!"

Khushi's alarmed outcry echoed in the silent clearing, startling its inhabitants. Some of which sent her annoyed glances. Again not, normal animal behavior but again nothing in this forest was normal.

But for now, she ignored the annoyed species and focused on Saesha. Saesha, who was avoiding her eyes.

"What do you mean by this?" Khushi's tone took a low predatory hiss. Her anger and suspicions getting the better of her. She knew she shouldn't let her anger get the best of her right now. But she couldn't help it. Something in her wasn't human and it was quick to anger.

Saesha is just a mere human. She won't be able to do anything if Khushi lost control of her emotions and ended up activating her still somewhat unknown powers. It had the right potential to end up in a complete disaster. A disaster Saesha won't be able to survive the onslaught of and Khushi didn't know how to control herself right then.

Now, when she is feeling so betrayed.

Saesha was Aryamaan's girlfriend. And she didn't say anything. She didn't tell her anything. Never mentioned anything until today.

And why is she mentioning it even now?

why?

"Truth, "

Saesha's monosyllabic unfeeling answer didn't help her temper anyway. It was flaring rapidly. Her whole life seemed to be just a mountain of secrets to her. Every person she had ever loved and cared about held a bounty of secrets over her. They all hid things from her. Things that led to her current situation.

Life-changing. Threatening. Vile secrets.

And now, even her new life is being overshadowed by secrets. What's the use of a second chance if the shadows of past won't stop chasing and lingering around her?

"How is it possible?" Khushi's tone wasn't loud but it was still threatening.

Very threatening.

"I think by now, you should have realized there's nothing impossible in this world? And to answer you he doesn't remember, " Saesha's answer was as impassive as a lifeless object. It was like a stone being dropped and sinking in the pool. Making noise but there weren't any emotions involved.

The Saesha answering her presently isn't the Saesha she had come to know.

The warm considerate friend listening to her rants, cheering her up, encouraging her. The one always speaking the right words at the right time. The one that was really teaching her the art of not drowning in the ocean of her own demons. The one encouraging her to never give up. The one true friend.

The stoic person sitting beside her isn't that person.

The woman with a frigid sarcastic tone, chilly aloof deposition, and cold eyes isn't the girl she knows. This girl sitting beside her now is a total stranger. A stranger with biting cold words. A stranger capable of giving people frost bites with her words.

"What do you mean by he doesn't remember? What's your relationship with the Raizada's? Clear it all, right now," Khushi knew she was being harsh. Her tone was barely not a snarl.

And the angry glare all the living entities beside her present in the clearing gave her at the time made it clear she wasn't family too. They looked ready to step in to defend Saesha at any moment. But no one was on her side. Snowy was growling, teeth bared threateningly. One wrong action and he will tear apart her throat. Even the ave species present in the clearing seemed against her.

Wasn't it a clear expression of distrust on her? She wasn't family to them. They didn't love her. She may be the one with powers but not the one in control. She wasn't there like Saesha was. They loved Saesha and it was clear at that moment.
