Katsuki Bakugo's pov:

"Hey, Young Bakugo. Time to leave to get to the train and meet your mentor. His name is David Shield and he won the 69th annual Hunger Games. Ochaco Uraraka is already waiting in the car outside." I heard the scrawny escort before he came through the rickety door.

"Coming, Toshinori." I said begrudgingly, pushing past him to leave.

A few minutes later, and we were headed to the car that was parked patiently outside. You could see the stage from here and the courtyard outside. It looked as thought it was void of people just like the town it was in. Most people did make their presence scarce so as to hide from any rough delinquent kids.

Funny. I'm probably the biggest delinquent yet no one ran from me. Probably because they knew I didn't waste my time on petty strangers.

The only exception to my distance from social situations was with my old classmate Ochaco Uraraka. She was always worthy of me in my eyes. Never underestimating or overestimating me, and saw me as her equal. She knew she could depend on me, and I could depend on her. I could trust her. And trust her I did.

But what'll she be like in the games? The games can change everyone. The nicest people can turn into the most dangerous of savages when shoved into a closed area with 23 odd bloodthirsty teenagers, ready to spill your guts if necessary for their own survival. That's the real uproar of the games. To watch the personality changes. One minute they're partying happily together in the Capitol, and the next they're slitting each other's throats and spearing each other through their hearts and eyes.

Oh the beauty of sadism. It really is tragic.

Such perfectly good souls, tainted by this wildly political death game. Why would they support such an outrageous idea? Because they were born and raised on the idea of those beneath them being put in their places. They think that because they have fancy blood red dress shirts and pink fake eyelashes, that they can look down on the people providing for them. Well then they're going to have such a drastic view change that they'll have no choice but to want me to win. I'm going to knock sense into those damn colourful fools.

Just watch me...

Getting in the car, scooting along into a leather seat, and resting my chin on my hand, I ignored everything the dumb escort said in favour of looking out the window at my home which I had the possibility of never seeing again.

Well to that I say good riddance. I had nothing left for me here. Nothing good left in my life besides my training. And now that training is coming to use. I'll slaughter the competition and make them wish they hadn't put me in the games in the first place! I'll show those violence nuts what it means to be humiliated publicly. And not with a stupid stunt like Katshit Everspleen 14 years ago.

Blacking out, I woke up in a blue chair. I squinted at the immensely bright light hovering above me.

"Where... am I?" I managed out, only to be pulled up in the chair but a pit of soft small hands.

"The train. We're on our way to the Capitol. You passed out in the car. You must have been tired." I recognised the voice as Uraraka's and relaxed immediately.

"Where's All Might or whatever his name is?"

She chuckled, "Oh, he's getting our mentor, David Shield."

And as if on queue, our escort walked through the door diagonal to us with a man I had never seen before.

"So you must be the infamous David Shield huh? At least you don't look as shitty as fucking All Might over here." I said nonchalantly, making eye contact with who I presumed was our mentor.

"That's correct. And... thank you?" he looked a little confused by my second statement.

"Don't mind him. That's just how he talks to people he doesn't know." I tched at Uraraka's words and rolled my eyes.

"At least we know that you can be tough out there. That's always a good thing. You seem strong enough to hold your own against many people. And look at those muscles you've got. You must have been training for this moment for a while." Shield said as he sat down opposite from us.

"So I'm here to tell you how to win this thing right?"

"Yeah! And we'll be willing to learn, sir!" Ignoring Uraraka's overly bubbly attitude, I leaned forwards so I could focus more and hear a little better. Because of yelling so much, my ears have grown a little more sensitive.

"Ok... so here's what you can do when you can't find suitable shelter in the event of an acid rain attack..."

Today was tiring. The man had us try and spar him. Which only ended up in me almost being knocked out in a choke hold. I thought I was strong, but clearly not enough. I'll have to work my fat ass in the training room.

Sleep came easily as my entire body ached from what seemed like an intense work our session against a real pro killer. I may find him slightly irritating for no reason, but damn could he fight. And learning from him only makes me more and more eager to get into the arena and snap a few necks and arms.

Morning came soon enough even though I hadn't put an alarm on. Waking up early wasn't my strong suit so seeing that the light was quite hidden behind clouds.

Getting up and out of bed, I slipped on a new white shirt and black pants as well as boxers and the black slippers provided.

After brushing my hair and teeth, I headed into the room with the breakfast bar. Grabbing a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon with beans, I went to sit next to both my mentor and teammate.

"Finally! You're up! It's already lunch!" I heard a bubbly voice form the table in the seat next to me.

Ok... so turns out I didn't break my habit and it go worse...

"Why did no one wake me?!" I yelled out.

"You seemed tired so we let you sleep in as a treat. Enjoy the extra unconsciousness while the feeling lasts as that's the last time I'm letting you sleep in this late." My mentor chimed in.

I clearly have so much to learn...

Before I could even think about eating anything I saw something bright green out of the corner of my eye. Knowing there was no green in the room I was in, I looked up and out the window.

We had arrived. The Capitol. The city of dreams. More like the city of making young, innocent children into ferocious murderers and justifying the phrase, 'only the strong survive.".

Well in my world, I'm the strongest...
