looking around the yard, he set his eyes on a figure that sat far from where the other students were playing fun a game of football.
as he walked closer, he saw that the person was rubbing their ankle. he figured they were injured.
coming to a halt, the blonde haired slowly sat down in a vacant seat next to them and made himself comfortable, catching the attention of the one sitting next to him.
"oh? kang yeosang?" they said, a hint of surprise dancing in its tone.
the said boy turned their attention from the football game to the other to give them a small — but sweet — smile.
"jiyun, long time no see." yeosang stated, his eyes scanning over the face he hasn't seen in ages.
the lass returned the smile with a bigger one, "i didn't know you went to this school?" she started, "what a little world, don't you think?" she smiled up at the latter.
yeosang nodded, his eyes slowly dropping to jiyun's ankle, "does it hurt?" he asked, worry lacing his tone.
jiyun hummed in confusion, her gaze following his down to her ankle. the lass chuckled lightly, "no, i'm just taking a break. i'm strong, you know?" at that, they both chuckled, yeosang agreeing with her.
comfortable silence fell upon them, jiyun being the first one to break it as her gaze landed on yeosang's newly-dyed blonde hair, "hey, yeosang." the latter hummed in reply. "this might be random but...you're like a guardian angel to me."
yeosang turned his head towards her in confusion and surprise, "how so?" he asked.
"you're always so kind to me when everybody isn't." she replied, exhaling softly, "if you weren't here then i think i wouldn't have lasted a day at this school." she rolled her eyes.
a small smile formed on yeosang's face, he was confused as to why she suddenly blurted that out but was grateful as he was constantly underestimated. he was thankful to have jiyun by his side, she was the only one who didn't downgrade him.
"i just wanted to say thank you." she started looking down at her shoes for a moment then back at his eyes, "for always being there, i couldn't ask for anymore. you really are my guardian angel." she stated with her usual bunny smile, eyes turning into crescents as wrinkles appeared in the corners.
