"It's delightful to finally meet such an intelligent woman like you minister. Our ministry and myself are very appreciative of the new law you have placed, it has majorly affected us.In the latest reports, we had about 896 unregistered Veela's from which 263 had left the area as they weren't able to recieve normal facilities." The German ambassador, Paul Hoffmann smiled politely at her.She was in a meeting with the German minister for the past two hours, discussing political manners, discussing some personal aspects as they were quite good friends before she became the minister and him flattering her even when she told him not to.
In all honesty, she was quite bored now.The conversation was very interesting at first but now, it seemed like the man was just talking so he could take more time.
Fortunately, she had a god given gift with her: She was able to zone out while acting and talking like she was listening. It was somewhere between the two.And she had done the for the past few minutes until he stopped blabbing.
"Well, it was lovely meeting you minister, But I should take my leave now."She smiled warmly. "Of course, Please give my greetings to your Minister." She got up to bid him.
"Of course, once again, we are deeply grateful to you minister.Kind regards."
With that, the minister had left and she sighed deeply. She didn't like flattery that he used.It made her head whirl and she was too tired and bored at the moment.
She checked the time to see it was lunch already and she remembered she had plans with malfoy for lunch and mentally felt relieved.
She wasn't in the mood to drift herself off in work again at lunch like she usually would anyways. He had told her in the morning when they walked to work together that he would come pick her up...which would be just a moment now.
Then she hears a knock on the door.
So cliché."Come in."
Her assistant, Jenny appears in and smiles warmly at her.
"Hey Hermione. There is someone at the desk uh-Draco malfoy? Can I let him in?"She nods.
"Oh yes please."She nods and winks at her knowingly before disappearing.
Hermione rolls her eyes.He assistant was a carbon copy of Ginny minus the red hair and freckles, who would always tease her almost about anyone she met up with as long as it was a male.
But she loved both of them anyways. The blonde appears with a smile on his face and she changes her annoyed face she had put up for jenny into another smile, which was quite genuine.
"Tiring day granger?"She nods.
"Very. But it's the usual. What about you? You look pretty happy." She notes his hair wasn't gelled up today, infact it was flowing beautifully.
But she turned her attention back to him as he spoke up."Not much.Ready to go? I was thinking Mexican...?"
She snapped out of her daze and nodded.
"Mexican sounds good.""Great, then let's go.I'm basically starving.I think I'm deficient of the proper nutrition I need." He gasps.
The usual dramatic malfoy who had to be treated with the utmost elegance at all times.
"Stop being so dramatic malfoy." She had a habit of saying that since her last year at hogwarts when he was headboy with her.
Merlin, that's when she had realised how dramatic he could really get and this was nothing compared to it.Once, the blonde had hurt his foot a little bit and madam Pomfrey told him it was fine and he didn't need plasters and it was just a splinter but did he care?
Not a bit.He had skipped a whole week of classes for that and somehow convinced Hermione to help him with the work he missed. And he wouldn't even get up to shower! He'd just scourgify himself.
She remembered how much she had laughed at him for that...not that he cared, he would just sneer away or roll his eyes when she would,as he was still convinced that he could have his leg amputated if he got up.
