Chapter 2-First Day Of School

Bella's POV

It's eight in the morning. I got up, made my bed and went to get some breakfast down me. I made myself a piece of toast and drank a glass of orange juice down in one go as I am really thirsty in the mornings. At least I have one day at school today though. I went back upstairs to brush my teeth, wash my face, curl my hair and get dressed.

I was ready 15 minutes later, I came downstairs dressed in a grey shirt with sleeves and a green shirt with no sleeves over my shirt. It said, "Swan" on the back of my green shirt in big bold writing with capitial letters and the number 17 on it. I grabbed my school bag and soft brown coat, along with my car and house keys and my mp3 player. I also grabbed a bottle of cold water out of the fridge and walked out of the door and locked it behind me. I saw five kids, three boys and two girls staring at me. I ignored them and got into my truck and drove off. One of them imparticular was still looking at me. He was dressed in white and had a black body-warmer on over his white shirt. He had dark hair and pale white skin. Also golden-brown eyes and pink pale lips. "Emmett, she's not worth the risk." A boy said. "But I'm desperate, I want her blood so bad." He replied still staring at me. He stopped staring at me by the time I was around the corner of Raven Avenue, the name of my street in Forks.

It was 8:30 am, time to go into school. I got out of my truck with my bag on my back and I got out my lesson plan. First lesson; English, second; Sport, third; Maths, fourth; Media Studies and fifth; Biology. I put my lesson plan in the front pocket of my school bag and slung it back on my back and walked into school. A boy was following me and he said, "Hi, you're Isabella the new girl." I replied, "Yeah but just Bella." He smiled at me and walked me to my tutor. "I'm in the same tutor as you so I may as well walk with you. Everyday in the morning and at the end of fifth period, we have to attend tutor time for important messages." He said. "I'm Eric by the way." He said, shaking my hand. I smiled at him and finally entered the tutor room. "Oh hello, you're the new girl Bella Swan?" A woman asked. "Yeah." I replied. "Everybody, this is Isabella Swan. I'd like you all to be very nice to her." She said. "Do you prefer Isabella or Bella?" She asked. "Bella, I prefer." I said smiling. "Who would like to have Bella sit next to them?" She asked looking at the other kids. "I'll let her sit near me Miss Wilson." A girl said raising her hand. "Thanks." I said smiling. I walked to the back of the classroom and sat next to the girl who volunteered to have me sit next to her. "I'm Angela." She said. "Hi." I said. "So is this your first day?" Angela asked me. "Yeah, I just move into a house on Raven Avenue by myself." I replied. "By yourself?!" She asked in shock. "Yeah, I was having problems back at home in Florida with my mom and step-dad Phil. They were having arguments and I kept getting in the middle of them so I decided to move here." I explained. "Cool, you're so lucky." Angela said smiling. "So where's your real dad?" She asked. "He lives in Atlanta with his new wife Rose and her two-year-old daughter, Lucy." I said. "Whoa." She said, wide-eyed.

Later that day, it was lunchtime. I sat next to Angela, Eric and their two friends Jessica and Mike who are going out together. Angela and Eric were just friends who fell out with each other most of the time. "Hey guys, this is Bella Swan, the new girl." Angela said introducing me. "Hi, I'm Jessica." Jessica said. "Mike." Mike said smiling at me. "Yeah, my girl." A boy said as he kissed me on the cheek. He tipped Mike backwards off his chair and Mike chased after the boy. "Oh my God. It's like the first grade all over again and you're the shiny new toy." Jessica said sitting in Mike's chair that was next to me. I let out a silent laugh and smiled at Jessica. "I'm gonna go and hang out with the other boys, see you in Biology Bella." Eric said, as he stood up and walked away. "I need to write another editorial on something, but I can't think of anything." Angela said. "What about Tyler and his soccer team?" Jessica asked as she suggested. "Did that last week." Angela said. "Well, what about pregnancy, abortion and adoption or something?" I said as I suggested. "Actually that's a good one." Angela said. "Thanks Bella." She said as she hugged me. "No problem." I replied. Then I saw fimiliar faces I saw staring at me this morning outside my house. I had to ask who they were. "Who are they?" I asked. "The Cullens." Angela said. "They're Doctor and Mrs Cullen's foster kids. They moved down here like two years ago." Jessica explained. "They kind of keep to themselves." Angela said. "Yeah cos they're all together. Like, together, together." Jessica said. "The blonde girl, Rosalie she's with the tall bronze-haired guy Edward." Angela said. "And the little dark-haired girl Alice, she's really weird and she's with Jasper the blonde one who looks like he's in pain." Jessica said. The four kids were walking past us as Jessica and Angela explained who they were. But I knew someone was missing. There were five of them, the other one was another boy who was dressed in white with a black bodywarmer on. Then he walked in and I asked them again. "Who's he?" I asked. "Him?" Jessica asked. "Yeah, who's that guy?" I asked again. "That's Emmett Cullen. Totally gorgeous and hot but apparently nobody here is good enough for him, like I care." Jessica said. "So...yeah, that's all the Cullen kids." Angela said. I turned around to see Emmett staring at me. I carried on staring at him until Jessica gave me a warning. "Seriously don't waste your time." She said. "I wasn't planning on it." I said, smiling. But I lied. I fell for Emmett desperately, I couldn't resist just being friends with him. Then he gave me a small smile and I turned back around.

After lunch, it was Biology. I walked with Angela and Eric to my class. "Mr Molina, this is Bella." Mike said. "Oh yes, Miss Swan." He said. Mr Molina was my Biology teacher for the rest of the year until next September. "Can you take a seat next to Emmett?" He asked. "Sure." I said. I walked to the back of the classroom was to find Emmett sitting at the desk. I sat down next to him and started listening to Mr Molina's instructions. Then Tyler turned around and started to chat me up. "Hey Bella, you wanna come on a date with me tomorrow night?" He asked. "No thanks, I'm good." I said. "You sure, cos you kind of look hot." He said eyeing my body. "I'm sure Tyler." I said, as I was starting to get annoyed. Emmett ignored Tyler and kept looking at me until he started to speak. "Hi." He said in a low-tone voice. "Hi." I said putting on a small smile. "I'm Emmett, Emmett Cullen." He said introducing himself. "Bella." I said introducing myself. "Are you new to Forks?" He asked. "Yeah, I moved into a house yesterday." I replied. "I live out of town with my brothers and sisters. We don't have any friends around there, it's just a big house in a small forest." He said. I smiled a little and saw his eyes turn black. I wanted to ask why that happened, but I didn't want to be nosey. "Do you maybe wanna come and hang out sometime?" He asked. "Probably, it depends on whether I'm busy or not."  I replied. "So have you ever had a girlfriend?" I asked, trying to make a conversation with him. "No, not ever." He replied. "You?" He asked. "Yeah, one of my best friends from my childhood, he has a cousin called Jared and I went out with him but he ended it with me back home in Florida." I said. "Why did he end it with you?" He asked. "Umm, he said he didn't love me anymore and that he found someone else better than me." I said. "Sorry." He said apologizing. "It's fine." I said.

It was the end of the day after last period. I walked out of the school corridors and out to my car. I saw Emmett and his siblings. Emmett stared at me once again but this time smiling. I gave him a smile back and turned around to get my gloves out of my bag. I was listening to my mp3 player while doing so. I zipped my bag back up and turned around to see a van speeding towards me. Then a boy zoomed and pulled me to the floor, pushing the van door back, crushing it. It was Emmett. He let go of the van door and stared at me. My breath was trembling as I looked into his dark golden eyes. He helped me up and jumped over my truck and walked away. Mike, Angela, Jessica and Mike ran toward me to help me. "Are you alright Bella?" Angela asked. "Yeah, I'm fine." I said. "Bella, I'm so sorry, I panicked." Tyler said, aplogizing. Tyler was the one who lost control of the wheel in his van. I knew he felt bad, but I wanted to know more about Emmett and his family. I knew they weren't human at all, comparing to their pale skin and eye colour changing.
