*DOESNT FOLLOW BOOKS OR ANYTHING LOL*

"he said it again didnt he?" Alicia laughs as you toss your shoes under your four-poster bed, smiling slightly.

"he says it ever time, surely he knows i don't feel the same" you say as you throw yourself backwards onto the comfort of the velvet sheets and let out a exhausted sign.

"you should just - tell him you dont love him back" your friend says between yawns, pulling the covers further up to her neck. the shine of the moon casts a shadow across her tired face and the dormitory is dangerously quiet.

"but i still want to see him, i just dont like the whole commitment idea" you get up and change clothes in the darkness as you talk, discussing what to do about the situation.

"you mean you just want to fuck him?" Alicia scoffs and rolls her eyes.

"no - well yes - but theres more to it" you defend, slightly embarrassed. "hes such a sweetheart and i love spending time with him. i just know being in a relationship with The Cedric Diggory wont go down well"

since the beginning of the school year, roughly 2 months ago, you and Cedric have grown close, very close, and you spend most weekends together. its not always physical as Alicia stated, and you just talk and joke for hours until its safe to retreat back to your common rooms unnoticed. Alicia is the only person that knows details about yours and Cedrics friendship, aside from the entire Hufflepuff house, but you trust that itll stay quiet as you all know a Slytherin misfit and a Hufflepuff prefect are far fom compatible.

"half the school have got the hint, Y/N" she laughs as you slide your legs into bed, shooting her a concerned look. you've always been so conscious about the whole thing around others, somtimes slipping him a note between classes or running off with his adorable cotton scarf when you pass him in the halls, and attempt to keep it subtle.

"if they havent caught on then they must be thick in the head" Alicia watches as you rest your head on the cushions and raise your eyebrows in disbelief. but before you can respond she continues. "you make it so obvious that something is going on between you two, even Malfoy was talking about it over dinner"

"Draco Malfoy?" you almost yell in panic. he cant know, of all people he cant know.

"no Y/N his mother. yes Draco" she spits, sarcasm clear in her voice. "he said hes trying to catch you together but he has no ideas how"

"good and hes not going to find us" you say confidently. you and Cedric have lasted a whole month and a bit without raising questions and you can keep it up as long as it stays secret and no rumours spread. but you know what Malfoys like, hes bound to make up something to crack you into confessing. "now shut up, im tired" you snap playfully and slide your green tinted curtains along their rails, boxing you in with yourself and your pillows.

you hear a snarky "i bet you are" from Alicia as she closes herself away too, sniggering at her own joke. you ignore her and listen to the silence that fills the room. the only noise is the distant crackle of the fire in the room downstairs and the light snores coming from a deep sleeping Pansy Parkinson.

it only takes a few minutes of staring into the void before your eyelids become heavy and, with the image of Cedrics gorgeous smile flashing in your mind, you eventually drift off to sleep.

"get up you ugly bitch, its saturday"

Alicias whisper is deafening as her breath hits your ear and your eyes shoot open. she does this most saturdays, bends right down to your ear with a grin and whisper shouts an insult to wake you up, earlier than your ready to. you swing a weak arm towards her and land a clean slap across her skull, groaning in annoyance and rolling halfway across the bed. she calls you another name before putting all of her effort into pushing against your back. you slide along the remaining surface of the matress and slip right off the edge, hitting the solid wood with a heavy thump and a whine in pain.
