Mackenzie pushed the body over to see it was in fact her dad. But she hadn't ever seen her dad this way before. Her dad's pale white face was covered in his own blood. Mackenzie could barely see through her tears as she shakingly placed her hands on his cheeks.

"Daddy?" She questioned at first, wanting to believe that none of this was really happening. Mackenzie looked down at the blood staining her hands. "Oh daddy" She sobbed as she pulled away and sat down, bringing her knees to her chest. "Daddy" She cried and cried.

That's all she wanted to do.

She sat there and cried until she was numb. Her eyes stung and her throat burned as she felt her heart break in her chest over and over. And even an hour later when the sun set, she still remained there.

But when she looked up something hit her. She knew her father wouldn't want her to spend the rest of her time crying, he would want her to find her mom and sister. Mackenzie got up and looked at her father one last time.

"You were an amazing father" She started to whisper."The best ever, I'll never forget you" She wiped the blood off her hands onto her jeans. "I love you" She paused to cry. "Goodbye" And then Mackenzie reached over and placed a kiss on the one part of his forehead that wasn't caked in blood.

She got up to leave but there was one more thing she had to do. Mackenzie turned around and took off her father's wedding ring.

Then she ran away, back to the car.

"Dude speed limit!" Jason yelled digging his nails into the seat rest. Derek slowed down and Jason slowly unclenched the seat.

"Sorry" Derek quickly apologized. His only focus at the moment was getting to Mackenzie.

"Calm down, its only like six hours away"

"She could be dead in six hours! And it'll be dark in a couple minutes!" Derek snapped back. Jason only nodded and looked out the window. "Sorry, I just don't want her to get hurt"

"I understand" They sat quiet for about an hour or so, only listening to music. The whole time Derek thought about how Mackenzie could be hurt. How she could be dead or dying. He eventually sighed and put his head against the seat. Derek hadn't slept the night before because he was depressed about how far Mackenzie was moving.

"Do you want me to drive?" Jason offered.

"No, its fine"

"Why not? Your obviously tired?"

"Because" He answered. Jason sighed in annoyance.

"Why?" He questioned again.

"I don't want to wake up and see you're gone" Jason was quiet and just looked out the window. Even though Jason was only a year younger then Derek, Derek thought of him as a brother.

As someone he had to protect.

"Come on you have to let me drive, you're exhausted" Jason said when Derek yawned.

"How long till we get there?" Derek asked trying to avoid the subject. Jason looked at his phone, then a map and then outside.

"We're entering Ohio in about five hours"

"What?! How is that possible!" He yelled in anger.

"Remember we took a wrong turn that added about an hour or so" Derek angrily hit the wheel and Jason was surprised.

Derek always kept his cool.

"Dammit" Derek mumbled under his breath.

Hailey had been following him for about an hour.

"This is creeping!" She screamed at herself. She was now somewhere in the town over. Her lights had been off this whole time so he didn't know she was on his trail.

The man pulled his car over and Hailey stopped a good ten feet behind him. The man got out and Hailey locked her car immediately.

This guy scared her; why had she followed him anyway? Hailey took note of the wheat field he was entering. Then, next to the field, there were woods. Hailey slowly pulled her car backwards and she came across a small sand path in between the woods.

She took a deep breath and pulled out her keys, taking note of the fact that she was almost out of gas. She would almost have enough to get to the gas station. But another drive there? She knew she couldn't do it.

So Hailey climbed into the backseat of her car. No one would find her back here, not even the guy she followed. She was so sure she was safe. Hailey looked around and waited a minute to see if the man would appear. But after a while, when he didn't show, Hailey grew tired and passed out in the back seat.

What she didn't see before was the man walking up to her car from the woods.
