{ Let me know what you think!! xx }

During the days that left until our departure to Ocean City, I've been hanging out with Nate. He showed me every corner of the city. We just talked and got to know each other; no unexpected kisses from him, though.

We all agreed that Nate and I would ride to Ocean City together, since his car had only two seats, and the rest would be in Sebastian's car. Gina looked at me suggestively and a wide smile crept on her face. I couldn't help but smile too.

I finished packing my bag. Laura couldn't decide whether we were going to stay there for a week or two so I chose to take more clothes just in case.

I always liked being prepared for everything. I didn't want any inconveniences caused by not planning for what was to come. I had to have everything under control because when I didn't, I'd become the worst version of me. I guess that's something I got from my mother.

Nate: I'll pick you up in ten.

I ran downstairs nearly tripping over and falling on my face. Thankfully, I regained my balance and remained in one piece.

"Already?" my mother asked looking down at my bag. I just nodded. I knew that if I said something we'd argue and I didn't want to leave in a bad mood. I came up to her and hugged her. Even though she was harsh sometimes I still loved her, she was my mother after all and I knew she wanted what's best for me. She couldn't understand that I didn't need her to take care of me all the time; I was an adult and needed to start managing my life by myself.

I kissed her cheek and squeezed her arm gently. I didn't want her to worry, she didn't have a reason to do so.

When I saw Nate's car outside I knew I had to hurry. My mom asked who he was and I just quickly replied that he was a friend.

I went outside and he was already waiting by an opened trunk. He rushed to me and took my bag. I thanked him because it was a little too heavy for me. He greeted me with a hug and opened the passenger door for me. I could see my mom looking at us from the kitchen window but her expression was calm.

We talked and laughed during the whole three hour drive. I really enjoyed his company. I thought that I'd maybe feel awkward closed with him in such a small space but it turned out to be a complete opposite. The energy floating around us was light and fresh. I felt like I didn't have to worry about anything for a while.

We arrived to Ocean City and Nate knew exactly where to head next because he said he's been here once before. We were driving on a stone road by the sea line. There were a few houses with what looked like private beaches. Suddenly Nate turned to one of the houses' driveway. Why was I even surprised? Judging by the house they had in Bel Air why did I expect the summer house to be any less than that.

The rest was already there; girls were struggling with taking their bags inside and Sebastian was just standing and laughing.

Charming.

I got out of the car and stretched my legs immediately. I didn't like long drives because my body couldn't handle them well.

"What took you so long? Did you stop mid-way to fuck?" Sebastian laughed and I dropped my purse. How dared he to throw such an insult.

"Not that it's any of your business, but no," I said and hit his forearm with my shoulder as I was walking towards Gina and Laura to greet them.

I looked around and didn't see Alice anywhere. It was weird because she wouldn't miss any opportunity to hang onto Sebastian as I started to notice.

"Is Alice inside?" I asked Laura as I reached to help her with the bag.

She shook her head. "It was literally a last minute change. Sebastian drove to pick her up and when she came outside she looked like a ghost. She insisted on going but when she almost vomited on us we put her back in her bed."

"Oh."

No Alice? Sebastian would definitely get bored. Unless he'd find some other girl to mess with for the following week or two.

We all walked inside and I thanked Nate for bringing my bag. The place was huge but felt cozy and lived-in even though it wasn't. There was no harsh contrast between black and white like in their house in Bel Air; dark wood floors and beige walls made the interior look very comfortable. The big windows with the view at the ocean brought so much light and made the space look even bigger. Under a huge hanging TV was a brick fireplace and in front of it stood a U-shaped sofa very similar to the one they already had. The kitchen and dining room were connected to the living room.

"It's so beautiful here! And the view!" I knew I sounded overly excited but I couldn't contain myself.

Laura smiled. "Okay, now the question is how we're gonna split rooms?"

"I take the one downstairs and the rest of you children figure it out," Sebastian claimed and went down the hall.

"There are three rooms upstairs so Gina and I can share one and both of you will have a room to yourself," she proposed and we agreed. I really liked that I wouldn't have to be with Nate in one room. That would feel weird; sleeping in bed with him. I just thought that would've been too much.

We went to unpack and when I opened the door I felt stunned. The room wasn't big but I didn't need it to be. White bed, which was a centerpiece, matched the walls and a small rug. There was also a leather armchair and a square glass coffee table.

I hung and folded some of my clothes and put them in a two door closet. I also discovered that I had a private bathroom. I bet all of them did. I sat on the very comfortable bed and admired the waves hitting the sand.

I heard knocking on the door. "Come in!"

Nate went inside and sat on the armchair in front of me. "So, d'you like it here?"

"Yeah," I let out a deep breath and nodded. "You said you've been here before, when?"

"When I was your age," he raised his brow in a funny way.

When I was your age. That sounded ridiculous because he was only two years older than me.

"But only with Sebastian," he added.

"Alone? You didn't get bored?" I said and tilted my head.

"Well," he rubbed his hand against his neck. "We had a lot of... different company."

I understood all too well what he meant so I just nodded because I didn't want to go into any details.

"How do you put up with Sebastian?" I changed the subject.

He looked a bit shocked by my question. "He's my best friend even though now we don't get to see each other often. I would take a bullet for him, you know," he shrugged and looked down.

"But... you're so different; you're nice and polite and he's rude and insulting," I noticed my voice getting angrier with every word I spoke.

"Maybe if he hadn't gone to college so far away with so many weird people but stayed in Bel Air, closer to his family and friends, he could've been different."

"Yeah, you're probably right," I shrugged.

Suddenly there was another knock and it was Gina. She told us to go outside and join her and Laura in sunbathing. I agreed; I could use some vitamin D on my fair skin.
