What If I Gave Your Heart A Break (Jemily)

Slight Angst with a happy ending, nothing too sad.

Description: JJ breaks up with Will weeks before their wedding because she realized she's in love with Emily. 

The team had just gotten back from a really draining case. The kind that sucked the life out of all of them for a little while. It had been clear before they'd even started working this case JJ was extremely out of it. Ever since her and Will split she had just sort've been dragging through her days. She loved her job, she loved her team but she was pretty miserable and completely tired of heartbreak. Emily and Penelope had made her go out for several girls nights but that didn't even seem to fix it. She didn't want Will back, that wasn't what it was at all. She was just very confused. No one knew the full reason for her and will breaking up just weeks before their marriage. She'd just told them they'd mutually decided that it wasn't the best idea at the moment and they didn't know that they were the right fit for each other. While that was true, what she didn't tell the team, other than Spencer a couple of weeks ago that is, was that she was starting to think that she was in love with someone else. "You have to tell her, JJ." Spencer said. JJ shook her head with tears forming in her eyes. "There is no way she feels the same and besides I don't want to risk our friendship or the entire team's dynamic for my feelings." JJ responded, "Emily is crazy about you and you both deserve happiness." Spencer encouraged her. JJ grabbed her bag and made her way off the jet almost in a haze. It had gotten so bad at one point that Hotch had offered her time off. Everyone had been worried. "JJ." She heard a voice from behind her. She turned around to see Emily approaching. "I was wondering if I could get a ride home?" Emily asked. JJ nodded and they headed to her car. They rode in comfortable silence for awhile. Emily was even more worried than the others. She didn't know what to do or how to get through to her. She was used to JJ confiding in her and telling her literally everything. They'd always been that way. During that time when Emily had to fake her death, JJ was one of the only people who knew and literally the only person from her old life she had kept in contact with. JJ was her rock and she knew that somehow she needed to find away to be that for JJ. She needed her to let her in. Emily had called and texted her time and time again to check up on her but nothing.  "Are you okay?" Emily finally asked, JJ kept her eyes on the road "I'm fine." She nodded. "JJ, what is it?" Emily asked. JJ pulled over to the side of the road putting the car in park before collapsing into Emily's arms in sobs, exhausted and completely tired of hiding her feelings. Emily rubbed her back in soothing circles trying her best to comfort her. "Do you miss Will? I know you loved him..." Emily starts. "No. No. I love..." JJ trailed off staring into her eyes. And that is when Emily realized. She leaned in and captured JJ in a passionate kiss, her hands intertwining in her hair. The two break apart, Emily smiles softly. "I've always loved you." Emily said. "What if... What if things go south? I don't want to lose you or." JJ said. "And what if the sky falls?" Emily jokes softly stroking her hair, "I'm always going to love you. You're not going to lose me, Jennifer Jareau. I'm not going to break your heart, I want to give your heart a break." Emily said. "I love you too, Emily Prentiss." JJ giggled softly before leaning in for another kiss. They both knew in their hearts this was the beginning of their happily ever after.
