Chapter 9

That morning about halfway until noon was when Lily came in smiling at the sight of the paladin sleeping holding the druid's hand. She gently nudged Balisk awake saying" sorry however Dan told me she trusts you more than she does strangers. She needs to drink this. I'll be bringing something for her to eat though I doubt she'll eat it, are you hungry?"

Balisk took a vial from orange haired, with black highlights, female asking" if you don't mind can you bring me some food as well?" She gave him a kind smile leaving the room as Balisk got up lightly shaking her uninjured shoulder saying" Nil come on time to wake up." The half elf let out a groan mumbling before he said" nope come on you wake up take this then I'll leave you be." Norril opened her cyan eyes with a whine when Balisk quickly shut the blinds to keep the sunlight from shining into the room. She let out a sigh before he came back over putting the vial in her hand saying" drink it all even if you hate the taste."

Reluctantly she sat up her shoulder protesting however the half elf ignored it leaning back against the headboard as she asked, looking around the room" where are we?" Her vision swam for a moment as she pressed a hand against her head.

Dan said, as he opened the door walking into the basic room" you're at my girlfriend's house. It's good to see you're awake, you scared us when you suddenly collapsed. Bal carried you all the way here however he refuses to admit he was worried." Balisk went to protest however his embarrassment was clear by how his blush was clear against his tan skin. Norril chuckled a bit in amusement before she had a coughing fit letting out a sigh she mental prepared herself for the most likely bitter tasting liquid in the vial. She opened it hesitating before choosing to down it in one gulp to keep from tasting whatever medicine it was. After gulping down the contents of the vial Norril let out a sigh closing her eyes. Dan said" you can be on your feet tomorrow however right now I know you haven't been sleeping well so rest. Balisk do the rest of us a favor and watch over her." Before the brown haired man could respond the outrage cry of Norril stopped them as the others came running in to see what was going on.

Norril grabbed the edge of the headboard getting to her feet she shouted, her eyes carrying a threat with them" who the fuck told you I was a girl! Neek I swear to whatever higher being is hearing this that if it was you I'll beat you senseless for breaking our promise!"

Neek quickly spoke up as the injured half elf approached holding her bandaged shoulder" it wasn't me I swear I didn't tell them. You trusted me even when you hardly knew me if anything I would have told them sooner. So it wasn't me I'd never break a promise especially when I see how you get when you're angry."

The druid turned her icy gaze to Dan who said" how about we all calm down it's not li-" He was cut off when the half elf slammed her fist into his jaw making him stumble as he winced running a hand over his jaw. Norril grabbed her shirt, slipping it on not liking the fact that only bandages that were wrapped around her shoulder and chest were the only things hiding that she was indeed a female.

She said, her tone as cold as her eyes" never tell me to calm down that is the worst fucking thing to do." Without wasting another moment she shoved her way past when Balisk went to grab her wrist she whirled on him when his fingers brushed against the shirt saying" don't Bal-" She let out a sigh running a hand through her messy black hair before speaking again" -just leave me alone." She turned leaving the house walking in silence though she could feel the villagers eyes watching her and she ignored them.

Back at the house Silent saw the hurt look in Balisk's eyes saying" hey it'll be okay I suppose it wasn't the wise-" He was cut off by a startled chirp from Neek four pairs of worried eyes looked over as the grey and white Aarakocra.

In her grasp was the tattered cloak of Norril's, the rest of the group quickly got to their feet as she said" Dan you know this village more than we do look in it. Lily forgive us however you must not tell another person about Norril or about her being a girl. You know none of us if someone comes asking. Dan can stay here, the rest of us will stay in the inn when we find her."
