03/06/2018 7:38PM (Final Chapter)Harry had arrived outside Summer's parents' house about half an hour ago but he had just been sitting in the car trying to do two things.
The first was figure out what it was he was actually going to say to her, a standard apology wouldn't do justice. The other thing he had to do was actually build up the courage to go and see her. Not to mention it was heavily raining outside still.
He finally decided that enough was enough and got out of the car, the door closing loudly behind him, large water droplets attacking him.
He made his way up their houses pathway, kicking the pebbles that had come from the stone garden as he walked while trying to ignore the surprisingly cold summer rain. He looked up to Summer's room which was at the front of the house, the light was on, meaning she was in.
He stood at the door for a split second before knocking, a loud bark erupted and he frowned in confusion, since when did Summer have a dog?
The door opened to reveal Summer's father and one of the biggest dogs Harry had ever seen, it was ginger and most certainly a mastiff but what type the dog was he was under sure.
"Hi Harry, haven't seen you for a while." He smiled.
"Uh yeah. Hi, nice dog."
Harry went out to pet it but the dog was quick to stand back and bare it's teeth, quickly Harry retracted his hand.
"Fluffy, enough."
"Fluffy?" Harry rose an eyebrow.
"It's Summer's dog." The older man commented.
Harry nodded, "Speaking of Summer, can I talk to her?"
Faintly in the distance Harry hears her voice yell, "I'm not in."
His heart drops as her dad gave him a sad smile and repeated those words to him. Harry nodded and mumbled a thanks as her father closed the door.
He walked a few steps up the path before turning and looking at her window, he saw the curtain move back into place and watched as the figure moved away from the window.
He had come here to give her an apology and he needed to get her attention some how, that's when his eyes found a gaze on the floor, and they landed on a few small pebbles.
Harry grabbed them quickly, throwing the first one towards her window where it missed, hitting the frame and a little thud sounding out.
He continued to throw them, his clothes soaking through and his body shivering but he wasn't ready to give up, on the fourth one the curtains pulled back and Summer had flung her window open.
He looked at her in awe, her face was a little fuller than it used to be and now her body held shapes and the wondrous curves she had been aiming for all those months back.
"Hi." Harry spoke, an instant smile on his face.
"What do you want Harry?" Summer mumbled. She looked at him and frowned, "You're soaking, Jesus Christ, are you insane?"
Harry felt himself shiver, "I'm fine I just have to talk to you. Look, I don't know about you but it's been a long six months and I was to afraid to tell you what I wanted once I realised it was you. You walked away so upset and I hated I was to blame for that, I seriously must have lost my mind to let you walk away, hell, it took me a week or so to realise it was you that I wanted to be with. I'm in love with you, Summer."
"I know I should have gone after you then and there when I realised but I didn't deserve you, I broke your heart and I want to put it back together if you give me the chance because I'm so damn sorry." Harry looked at her, pausing for a minute, "Remember those all night drives we would do? I know you've still got that picture in the white frame of me and you at the beach after we drove for hours and hours, I'm kissing you on the cheek. I may not have known you long Summer, but I know you better than anyone."
"I want you for worse or for better Summer, I know it's crazy now but I would wait forever for you and I want to be your now, always and forever."
Summer let it a small laugh and smiled, "Oh Harry."
"I'm serious Summer."
"Wait, you're asking me to marry you?"
Harry nodded quickly, "I can't imagine my life with out you, I tried it for six months and I was in hell. You don't have to marry me now, or in five years or whatever just as long as you do one day and I can call you mine."
Summer slammed her window shut and Harry frowned. He had no idea what was happening but when the door flew open and Summer came running out into the rain he didn't have to second think opening his arms.
She fell into them naturally and laughed as she looked up to him, moving his wet curls from his face as she soon became soaking too.
"Okay, I'll marry you one day."
"You will?" Harry yelped.
Summer nodded and Harry was quick to pick her up and spin her while letting a yell of glee out, as soon as he returned her to the floor she smiled.
"I've had a few cliché kisses in the rain but I've always wanted to experience kissing the love of my life in the rain. I suppose that's a possibility now."
"Yeah, It is." Harry agreed
He ducked his head down where their cold lips collided and the rain trickled down their faces. In that moment Harry had realised he had never been happier because this was what he wanted. He was loved and he could give love, that to him was one of the most important things in the world and he got to share it with one of the most important people in the world, well, to him she was and would always be the most important person in the world.
Finally, Harry had found out what love really was, if the way he felt about Summer didn't clarify it then he didn't know what could.
Epilogue to come
