Chapter 17

~ Few Days Later ~

I jump up hearing a loud thump and glass breaking from the kitchen. 
I didn't want to get up and I honestly didn't want to believe that there could be someone in my house right now. 
Maybe I was just hearing things from my previous dream. I turn over to look at Jc sleeping, his face buried into the pillow. 

"Jc." I whispered loudly, shaking him. He groaned, pushing my hand away from him. I continued to shake him roughly. 
"What?" He mumbled as he sat up. 

"There's someone downstairs.." I quietly said as I pulled the blankets off our bodies and watched him take the metal bat from underneath the bed. 
"Stay here." He stood up and I shook my head. 

"Alexis, stay your ass here or I swear to god." He warned and I finally nodded, watching him walk out of the room into the dark hallway.
I sighed, sitting there and waited to hear something I didn't really want to hear. 5 minutes have past and I finally stood up and slowly walked out into the hallway. 
As I stepped down the stairs I heard a whole bunch of crashing and mumbles coming from the kitchen. 
My hands started to shake as my feet slowly made its way towards the kitchen door. Then that's when I heard a gun shot. 

"Justin!" I pushed the door open to see Jc on the ground and Liam holding a gun in his hands. My eyes widen when I seen a gun shot wound on his arm. 
"Oh look who came to join us." Liam smiled. I rolled my eyes, helping Jc off the ground and grabbed the bat. 

"You stay the hell away from me." I backed away towards the back door because if we can make it out without getting shot, there's a gate door that will open to a pathway that will lead to the woods. But since he has a gun, it'll be impossible. 
"Took me a while to find you, ya know. I searched and searched then when I went to go get food. I see a pretty girl I was searching for years with a guy who kissed her. I knew you saw me but you didn't dare let that ruin your date, right? You thought I wasn't going to follow you to your house? And plan to break in a few days later so i can fucking take you back." 

"Alexis, I told you to stay upstairs." Jc stood in front of me and I shook my head, handing him the bat. "Does it look like I fucking care about that right now, Jc?! Hit him in the head and we'll make a run for it, got it?" I whispered in his ear, staring over at Liam who just smirked at us. 

"You guys are cute. It would be a shame if something would happen to you both, right?" He laughed and Jc quickly swinged the bat when Liam turned around to grab the knife from the counter. The gun came sliding across the floor but it was too far to reach so I opened the back door and made a run for it, Jc close behind. I didn't really care how much it hurt to run without shoes on, I only cared about getting away from the bastard in my house. 

After about 5 minutes of running, Jc stopped me and we hid behind a tree for a moment. He pushed my hair back softly, handing me his iphone. 
"I don't care how behind I am. You keep running, got it? Run and don't stop until you reach the road. When you do, call the cops and start running down the road to the gas station. I'll handle him." Jc whispered quietly and I shook my head. 

"I can't just leave you here. You'll get killed!" He sighed, cupping my face softly. I didn't want to leave him, even if he can handle Liam and shit, I'm not leaving him. There's always that slight chance that he can get killed by him because oh yeah, Jc has a bat while Liam has a fucking gun! 
"Alexis, I don't fucking care! I can't let you get hurt. Go. Now." Jc pressed his lips against mine real quick then pushed me away softly. 

"Be safe." I mumbled, hugging him tightly and when he nodded, I started running towards the road that wasn't that far ahead. I was terrified for not only myself but for Jc. 
But he killed before so why worry?.. 

When I made it to the road, I hurried up trying to dial 911 but it still said that I had no service so I started running down the road. 
My lungs hurt and my legs ached along with my feet, probably bleeding from stepping on all these twigs and rocks that dug into my feet. 
After looking back to the woods I heard 3 gun shots, I prayed that it wasn't Jc getting shot because I don't know what I would do to be honest. 

I ran up to the gas station, banging on the door for the guy to open it and he did, staring at me like I was crazy. 
I mean, I was in short shorts with a t-shirt. Of course it would be crazy. 

"Please call 911. This guy is trying to kill my boyfriend in the woods and I don't have service." I barely spoke because of how tired I was from running. I was breathing heavy and I was still shaking from being cold and from worrying about Jc. 
The guy quickly called the police and I sat there waiting until the lights shut off. It was pitch black and I couldn't see. 

"Hey, lady. You alright?" The guy spoke, turning on his flash light. I nodded and watched him load his shot gun. 
"He's coming.." I told him, looking out the window and I thought about it for a second. If Liam is here then that means.. Jc is dead. 

I wanted to cry so bad but I had to be strong to actually escape from Liam. 

I heard the back door slam shut and Liam whistling as he walked through the store. 
"Oooh, Alexis. I know you're in here." I heard him laugh, pushing things off the tables and shelves. I hid behind the front counter with the guy next to me. 
"Jc put up quite a fight. Until, I pulled the trigger three times. Jc falling to the floor in pain, bleeding out then finally, he passed out. Pretty sure by now he's dead but who knows? He's pretty strong for a 22 year old." He explained and I covered my mouth as tears escaped my eyes. 

Then I heard the worker get up and walk out, telling Liam to leave or else. 
They talked for a few minutes until I heard Liam pull the trigger. I bit down on my tongue, hearing his footsteps come closer then he pulled me out from behind the counter. 

"Found you!" He smiled, holding the gun up to my head.
