WAS THIS REALLY IT FOR HER? SHE DIDN'T EVEN GET TO TELL HIM. She watched as Sero lunged forward in an attempt to catch her, eyes wide in fear. Everything had slowed down— his voice had seemed to be slowed too. What was he saying? She couldn't make it out. As she fell, she cursed the gods above. She just wanted to tell him how she felt. Was that so much to ask? Then again, wasn't she just overreacting? It wasn't as if she could die from falling down a flight of stairs. But then again, if she hit her head hard enough—
Tears began to fall from her eyes. This might be the end. She stretched out both her hands frantically as her heart pounded in her ears. "S-Sero!" Within seconds, she was in his arms. She dug her fingers into his shirt as they tumbled to the ground. Her eyes were blown wide with fear as she held onto his torso. He returned the favor, nestling his head into the crook of her neck.
As they laid in the middle of the hallway, tears fell from their eyes in sync once more. The tape he had used to save her remained wrapped around her waist as they held one another tightly. "Sero," she began, shoulders shaking from the fright she had just received, "I-I'm sorry." He stiffened at the sound of her voice, soon realizing the position they were in.
"I went along with their plan because I didn't know what else to do, I'm really sorry," she apologized as his face was flushed a deep red. He flailed from underneath her, trying to separate the tape from his elbow as the faint sounds of chatter grew louder. He looked to his room and back to her, cringing at the louder sound. She had been talking as he panicked, making him panic even more. What had she been saying?
"... thing is, I like you a lot Sero!"
His face erupted into an even brighter shade of red. "I-I do too—" "I hope Sero's okay, dude. He looked hella out of it." Ueki let out an unintelligible squeak as she realized as well. Their voices grew louder and both of them stood up suddenly, trying to pull out of the tape they had been attached to. But the tape was far too strong.
"Quick, into my room," he whispered as they shuffled over to the door. He shut it as quietly as he could and she grabbed a stray blanket on the floor, dragging him down slightly. A knock on the door made him hiss quietly. He wrapped the blanket around himself, the size just large enough to cover her. "Hey, dude, it's Kami and Kiri," said a familiar voice. He opened the door with an awkward smile, "h-hey, guys."
"Woah, you seem better!" exclaimed Kirishima with a wide grin. "Yeah," he began, shifting the blanket slightly, "Ueki and I talked things over." She smiled into his chest, trying her hardest not to move. The smell of oranges wafted into her nose as they stood there, Kaminari giving the raven-haired boy a fist bump. "So, are you guys dating?"
Sero turned a bright red as he scratched the back of his neck. "I-I think so, yeah." Her cheeks warmed as she gripped his shirt. She tuned out their conversation as she stood there, smiling goofily. "Well, feel better, man! See you tomorrow!" Sero gave a wave back before finally shutting the door. He let out a sigh, letting the blanket fall a bit. She remained quiet as he reached over for a pair of scissors. With a few snips, they were apart.
"A-about the dating thing, I-" Just as he put the scissors down and they had peeled the tape off themselves, she had leaped at his torso, making them fall to the bed. Sero's face flushed as she stared at him with sparkling eyes. "I would like to think we're dating too, Hanta," she cooed before placing a tender kiss on his lips.
"IN THAT CASE, I CAN FINALLY SAY I LOVE YOU, (Y/N)."
