Nick Pov
She was smiling more, talking a lot more and even going out a lot more.The day after the charity events I started seeing the change in her. It wasn't only me, even the maids and her father noticed. Stacy even asked me what I did to her because even she was surprised.
I smile thinking about how strong she was and look at her sipping her warm coco listening to what Stacy was saying. Suddenly someone entered and walked towards their table got up and and was about to remove my gun when James another guard said "He is her ex they are friends now, calm down" in the ear piece.
I had never felt so much rage towards a person before "Name" I say "Adin, they met in college dated for a year but broke it off after college ended" I sit back down and take a few deep breaths to calm down. Why was I feeling so protective of her? I couldn't afford to feel this way, this was my job. Then I looked back at her laughing about something he said and got pissed all over again.
Amber's pov
I was embracing the light. It was like enjoying the sun after days of snow. Dr.Jane was really happy and proud of me. She told me that Nick somehow, helped me and that it worked. I didn't even need my sessions three times a week, they were reduced to once a week. I never felt better! I even decided that next morth I would start working with my father again.
Stacy was just telling me about this guy she hooked up with, when I saw a familiar face walk up behind her "Adin" I say and get up to hug him. we were a thing in college, but it didn't work out. I was glad that we were still friends, and our families were close too. Over the years I dated a couple of guys in school and college but somehow it would end. But I never stressed about it, I knew I would find someone new soon when it was ment to be.
"So, my birthday is in two days as you both know and I want you to come Amber. I won't take no for an answer, come have some fun." She said. "Okay I'll come just for you" I say with a pout. We had a good laugh after that.
My eyes drifted to Nick who looked really pisses and unhappy. Why the sudden mood change? I thought Did I do something?
