Nick's pov
(Amber's out fit on top)

All she had to do was say the words and we were out within minutes sitting in the car. She didn't leave me, holding on to me with a tight grip shaking with short breaths. "Amber just breath, you did great. Just breath in and out slowly. She nodded and followed my instructions.

After she calmed down she looked at me with her big grey eyes "I don't want to go home just yet. Please Nick" that was the first time she said my name. It warmed my heart, I saw so much emotion in her eyes it amazed me. I nodded and told the driver to take us somewhere else.

We ended up near a lake ten minutes later. As soon as the car stopped Amber ran out and stood there with her hands on her knees with her back hunched, head hanging in front. The driver was about to go and check her but I stopped him and waited patiently.

She stood up straight and took a few breaths in and out. Turned around and walked towards me and hugged me tight. With her head resting on my shoulder she said "Thank you for everything".

Amber's pov

He held onto me, took most of my weight and did not let anyone ask a question or take a picture on the way out. I was surprised that they actually listened to him. All through the drive he helped calm me down, he said I did great. I was proud of myself too.

I was not panicking because I was scared I was shocked because I actually did what I had to without breaking down. He gave me the push I needed to get stuff done and I for once actually listed to him and got shit done.

When we reached the lake I couldn't sit any longer. Running outside I stopped just near the water and took deep breaths while bending down. It was my way of coping with stuff. That's the moment I realized that I couldn't live in the darkness any more. I had to move on that what mom wouldn't have want to for me. I made up my mind to try harder everyday not only for my mom but myself.

Standing up straight I walked towards Nick and did something I never though of putting my hands around his neck hugging him. "Thank you for everything" I said with honest.
I was enjoying the warmth he was giving, the strength he gave me today mentally. He was my own safe haven. Slowly he returned the hug and held me close. Today I changed.
I felt strong.
