My step faltered a bit as I noticed who they were, but I quickly recovered. I couldn't let them know who I am, cause... well I hate the Greek mythology part of my life. I avoid it at all costs, rarely going on quests, and steering clear of as many demigods as possible. Poseidon knows this as well. Him and Athena keep the majority of monsters away from Ryan and I, unless we're on a quest. They also be sure to give me quests that most likely won't cross paths with another quest. Of course, I still had to meet up with the occasional demigod for quests, but they always get a fake first name, or even no name at all. But looking at 2 of the most famous demigods of our generation, I got a bit suspicious as to why they were here.
Percy was clad in a gray t-shirt, with blue swim trunks, that had little tridents on them. Annabeth seemed to have a gray bikini underneath a blue coverup.
"Hello, how can I help you?" I asked, stepping up to the counter.
"Can I get 2 cheeseburgers and a medium milkshake?" Percy ordered. "Also do I know you?"
"If you live here in Santa Monica, you might've seen me around, but otherwise I don't think so. Would you like chocolate or vanilla?"
"Oh, ok. And vanilla, please. Also, do you have any blue food dye?"
"Blue food dye?" I repeated, trying to think if we did. Annabeth just rolled her eyes, quite amused.
"Yeah. If you do, can you make the milkshake blue?"
"Uhm, sure. And for you?" I said, turning towards Annabeth.
"Just another straw, I'll share with Percy," she said, winking at him as he pouted at the thought of sharing his milkshake.
"Can I get a large milkshake then?" Percy requested.
"Sure," I laughed. "What's a good name for this order?"
"Percy Jackson."
"Great, I'll be right back with that," I said, walking quickly back to the storage room where Ryan was making his way back out towards me.
"Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson are here," I hissed. "Percy asked if he knew me, clearly not noticing the obvious similarities between us and our dad. Annabeth pretended she didn't notice, but you guys have that same 'I'm thinking' look."
"Wait, really? Oh my gosh, I want their autographs!"
"No! I do not like acknowledging the Greek mythology side of my life, and that would be admitting we're demigods. No, we're not doing that. But we do need to keep an eye on them. I don't know what they're doing here in Santa Monica cause Camp Jupiter is San Fran. I think my dad might be pulling something with this ridiculous quest he's sending me on. Also, do we have any blue food dye?"
* * *
"Percy Jackson!" I called a few minutes later, holding a bag with their 2 burgers, and his blue milkshake.
They were sitting at a little table not to far away, Percy talking and waving his arms around expressly. Annabeth walked over, and with a quick glance over her shoulder to see what her boyfriend was doing, leaned towards me, hissing, "I don't know who you are, but I will find out. Especially if you're a monster. Stay away."
With that, she took her food, sat down with Percy and continued their conversation as if nothing else had happened, besides the glances she threw my way.
I was just about to go to Ryan about what had happened before he came out front where Annabeth could see him, but I had no such luck. As soon as Ryan walked up with his clipboard, exclaiming that all was well in the storage unit, Annabeth leaned over to whisper something to Percy, who, in turn, slipped his hand into his pocket, suspiciously eyeing us.
