DANIEL WAS VERY NERVOUS. he was about to ask out riley and kept panicking. his hands were sweaty, he kept shaking, and possibly hyperventilating. he kept trying to think of reasons to not ask her out, and came up with a lot but thought about what sloane said to him. "don't be a pussy" daniel repeated to himself.
as he was gaining the courage to go on with tonight's plan he saw a familiar brunette walking up to his car. it was riley. he was parked outside her apartment complex and had texted her already. once daniel looked at her he knew what he had to do. once she got in the car daniel then drove off ready for a long night.
"you look really pretty" the boy managed to say. "thank you, you look very dashing yourself" riley responded. daniel chuckled. "dashing? really?" he said. "yeah you got a problem with dashing seavey?" the girl said looking at him. "maybe i do" daniel said. riley dramatically gasped at what he said. daniel looked at her for a second and looked back at the road. the two started laughing at their antics.
this was the reason he grew feelings towards riley. she made him laugh, smile, and overall happy. he was pretty shy before he met riley. she taught him to be more outgoing and step out of his comfort zone. and yes it was challenging for him but he loved it, just like he loved her.
"so mr. seavey where are we off to?" riley asked. "that is a secret" daniel said. "daniel. you know i hate secrets" the girl said looking at him seriously. "yes i know but i don't care, you are going to have to deal with it for tonight" the boy said keeping his eyes on the road. "you are lucky you're cute" riley said pouting. daniel couldn't help but smile at riley calling him cute. he blushed a little but didn't want riley to know so he tried to hide it. little did he know she noticed but she didn't say anything. all she did was smile.
after a couple of minutes they were finally there. "the beach?" riley asked. "well yeah i know it's basic but i thought it would be cute since you like the beach" daniel said looking down at his feet. "daniel i love it lets go" riley said running towards the sand. daniel smiled and ran after her. once he caught up to her daniel picked her up and spun her around. "put me downnn" riley said while laughing. daniel eventually put her down and they both set up a blanket and sat down watching the sunset.
after a few moments of silence daniel built up enough courage to start talking. "i got you something" he told her. riley looked at him confused. daniel pulled out the necklace he got when he went to the mall with sloane. riley's jaw dropped. "whoa" she said. "do you like it? because if you don't we can take it back and i can get you a better one you can even pick it out" daniel rambled. he stopped himself when he saw riley giggling, she always giggled when he rambled so that's how he knew he was doing it. "calm down daniel. i love it" riley said. daniel sighed a sigh of relief. "can you put it on me?" riley asked. the boy nodded and did exactly that.
after he put it on he saw her admire the necklace and took this as his chance. "there's something else" he started to say. riley looked up and him and titled her head. "we have been hanging out and talking for a while and i was wondering if you would want to be my girlfriend?" daniel asked. he was looking her straight in the eyes just like sloane had told him. riley was shocked, she didn't realize that daniel had feelings for her. "you're serious?" she asked. "that wasn't the answer i was looking for. but it's fine just forget i said anything let's just go" daniel started to get up but was stopped by the smaller girl. "you didn't let me answer. i just wanted to make sure you weren't joking. yes i will be you're girlfriend" riley said all smiles. daniel bursted out into smile. "OH THANK GOODNESS YOU SCARED ME THERE" daniel said doing a victory dance. riley laughed at her boyfriend's foolishness.
daniel stopped dancing and looked at riley, he moved closer towards her and kissed her. they pulled away smiling and didn't stop smiling the rest of the night. they were happy, really happy.
