I woke up the next morning to the sound of knocking on my door. "Hazeline!" Still dazed from my sleep I couldn't make out their voice.

I rolled out of bed and answered the door.

"Hunter?" I said rubbing my eyes.

"Hazeline, we're going to go out to town today. Would you like to accompany me?" He asks, I look at the clock and it's 10am.

"Who let me sleep this long?!" I shout grabbing a coat and hurrying about.

"It's okay, your parents have gone out and have left you with us." He says assuring me.

I breathe deeply and sit on my bed. Hunter comes and sits next to me, and follows my gaze.

"You have a bird?" he says.

"Kind of." I say with a little laugh.

"How do you kind of have a bird, Hazel?" He laughs.

"Well I just put him in a cage because he flew into my room. I didn't know what else to do with him. I haven't thought of a name for him either." I sigh.

"Very beautiful bird. Fitting for a beautiful girl."

 I smile.

"Your face is red." He says trying not to laugh at me.

"Thanks for pointing that out." I giggle.

"You look beautiful even with a bright red face." Hunter says.

"Get dressed and be down for breakfast, okay?" He leaves the room and shuts the door.

He's so dreamy. I don't want to overdress so I put on a skirt and a white shirt with a scarf. I've never been to the town before, I have seen pictures though and no one ever looks dressed up. I brush my hair and put on perfume and head downstairs.

"At last, took you long enough." Hunter complains.

"Be kind to the girl, Hunter." his father says sternly.

"Let them play, Hunter is only mean to girls that he likes." his mother teases me.

"Mother!" Hunter says avoiding my eyes.

I laugh and sit down to eat. It's just bacon and eggs, but I eat it slowly. Everyone’s eating and it has gone silent.

"So, where are we going?" I break the silence.
