Dahee's POV

I woke up the next morning, fluttering my eyes open and adjusting my vision to the bright sunlight entering the room through the window. My eyes widened when I looked at the wall clock.

"Shit! I'm gonna be late!"

I quickly ran to my room and quickly freshened up to go to the school. And I thought to skip the breakfast as I was already late.

***

I stopped near the gate, panting heavily. I ran the whole way so I took some time to catch my breath up. As I was about to walk inside the campus, I saw Mr. Min standing near the gate with a couple of students writing down something.

Then I quickly realized that they were writing down the names of the late-comers which also means they'll give demerits to the kids whose names are in that list. I cursed myself in my mind.

"Aish!... Why did I oversleep?! I'm screwed!..."

just then I saw Wooyoung heading my way. I was panicking but he just looked unbothered about it.

"Dahee annyeong," he said, walking past me.

"Yah, wait a minute!" I said, grabbing his arm to stop him.

"What?"

"Do you know any other way to go inside the school? I don't want my name to be on that list."

"Wae? I thought you didn't care about all that."

"There's no time to talk about this. You know a secret way, don't you?"

"Well... I know each and every secret place of this school." He smirked.

"Then let's go before it's too late. Hurry up!"

He took me to a place when there wasn't anyone. There was huge wall, probably the boundary wall of the school.

"We have to jump over it," he said, pointing to the wall.

"What?!"

"If you don't want to then come through the main gate."

"No, no, wait!" I sighed. I didn't have any other option anyways. "Okay, I'll do it."

"Good."

He took off his bag and threw it to the other side of the wall. I too did the same. He on one hand, climbed up the wall quickly whereas me on the other hand, was struggling to climb.

"You can't even climb," he said and laughed a bit, sitting on the wall.

"It's my first time doing something like this."

"Then get ready to get caught."

"Stop laughing and help me. Pull me up." I extended mu hand, gesturing him to help me. "Hurry up!"

He sighed and took my hand, helping me to climb up. And soon we got to the other side. I picked up my bag and dusted it.

"Let's go quickly before we get caught," I said, grabbing his hand. Then we both ran to our class.

***

"Just in time!" I sighed when we reached our classroom, still panting.

"I was looking for you, Woo." San said as he came and stood in front of us. "Why are you so late today?"

"I played games all night so I woke up late," Wooyoung replied.

Then San's gaze landed on me and soon a smirk crept upon his face. I looked at him in confusion. "You two can let go of each other's hand now."

Then I realised that I was still holding Wooyoung's hand. I quickly pulled my hand back and looked elsewhere as I felt my cheeks getting warm.

Wooyoung cleared his throat. "San-ah, let's go." Then they both went inside the class. I breathed out heavily when I was all alone.

What just happened to me?

I cupped my cheeks which still felt warm. I shook the thoughts off and walked to my seat.

***

The first few days went pretty well. Nothing much happened except Wooyoung who annoyed me sometimes.

"Children, you all will be divided into groups of three for the group assignment which you would be submitting next week," Ms. Lee said. "So now I'll call out the names with whom you all will be grouped up."

Group assignment? I don't even know my classmates well. What would I do? It'll we hard for me to work with others.

I hated group assignments. I didn't like to work with anyone as I preferred to do it alone.

Ms. Lee announced the names as I eagerly waited to hear my name and the other two names with whom I would be working.

"Jung Wooyoung..."

I don't want to be in his group, please.

"...Kang Dahee & Choi San."

Ah, why?! Now I have to spend more time with him other than school.

I sighed internally as I saw Wooyoung & San smiling at each other, looking happy to be in one group.

Soon all the groups were decided. The students started discussing among the group members, probably about the topic and all. I just sat in my place, resting my head on my right palm, sighing.

"Why are you sighing so much today?" Wooyoung asked.

"Huh? Nevermind."

"You should be happy that you'll we working with me." I just shook my head and put my head down on the desk.

In your dreams...
