The house was dark, when I walked inside. Not a single light was on and there was no sign of anyone downstairs. I hurry to Aiden's room, in hopes that he is alone. Aiden has been oddly quiet lately. I wonder if he has anything he would like to get off his chest. I know I have a world sitting on mine right now.
"Hey, can I come in?" I ask, tapping lightly on his door.
"Come in loser!" Aiden shouts back to me.
I peek inside to discover Aiden sitting on his bed. His TV is off and his laptop is closed. These are sure indicators that something is wrong. He can almost always be found in group chats, on Twitch, and playing online games with friends.
"What's wrong?" I ask, taking a seat beside him.
He glances around the room for a moment and sighs heavily. Aiden appeared uncomfortable.
"Hey," I said, placing my hand on my brother's shoulder. "You can talk to me about anything."
A couple of minutes went by, without a word being spoken. The silence was deadly.
*Aiden's POV*
I escorted Elizabeth to our seats, at the theater. To say I am less than thrilled to watch a musical, is an understatement. We sat down and began munching on the popcorn, we shared. While we waited for the movie to start, we made fun of commercials. Slowly the theater began to fill with people.
Cuing the movie to begin, the lights started dimming. Everyone standing around began rushing to their seats. A towering silhouette caught my attention, as it approached our isle. Hoping I would go unnoticed, I slid down in my seat. I did not want to be seen at a musical, nor did I want to be seen with Liz. A glimpse of a sly smile and glimmering brown eyes, made my chest race as they neared. My eyes followed their every footstep, right until they occupied the seat behind me.
I felt a light tap on my shoulder.
"Aiden? I did not take you for a musical kind of guy." whispers tickled my ear.
I turned around, giving a phony smirk. Quickly, I threw my hand up in a wave-like gesture and put it down.
"Thanks, you too." I said nervously. I turned back around, facing the screen. I felt like such an idiot. "You too?" That didn't answer the damn question. I do not respond well under pressure, obviously.
"Excuse me for a moment, I've got to drain the main vein." I leaned into Elizabeth and pecked her cheek.
"Uh," She sighed, "Hurry. I don't want you to miss the opening number."
I rolled my eyes and scurried away.
After stepping out of the bathroom stall, I stroll over to the mirror. My face is flushed and my heart will not stop pounding. I splash my face with cool water and hang out for a moment, in hopes these stomach knots will disappear. I hate this unknowing feelin. It has been present in my life forever, but the older I get the more it seems to consume me. I pressed my fists onto the counter tops and starred in the mirror. I hope if I stare at the man in my reflection long enough, maybe I will be able to see who I am or what I am.
"Well, well, well... We meet again." A familiar voice echoed through the empty stalls.
"Lo.. Lorenzo... Um... Hi." I stuttered.
Lorenzo approached me confidently. His fohawk was a dark, curly mess. His torn jeans hugged his hips nicely.
"N... Nice jacket. It looks good on you." I gulped. It was different seeing this side of Lorenzo. He wears the bad-boy look well. Usually, I only see him in sweaty track clothes or in a blazer and oxford shoes.
