Dimitri knelled before the fallen rubble of the Church of Seiros. He was apathetic to his surroundings, disregarding the passionate singing of the choir practice. He has been like this for quite some time, ever since the army reunited at Garreg Mach. He hasn't been training with you, or anyone for that matter, like he used to. Although he might act out, you cannot hide your curiosity for the reason behind his melancholy any longer, and so you walk up to him and try to break him out of whatever thoughts are consuming him. He glances at you, and turns away quickly.

"What could you possibly want from me?" he said, grumbling.

"You have been up here, staring at this pile of rubble, for who knows how long. All of us are starting to get really worried," you said.

"Leave me be," he snapped. "I don't want to see any more of you until I tear that foul woman's head from her shoulders."

So it's Edelgard that is driving him to insanity?

"Which you can't do while moping around in the Church."

"What else am I supposed to do? The army refuses to move forward towards Enbarr, so until then, I serve no purpose in this world...unless I travel there myself."

You shake your head, unsure of how to comfort him. Completely obsessed with ending the Empire, it seems like. If only you could somehow get him to listen, maybe bring him a little peace of mind and forget about such swift and bloody revenge.

"Dimitri, there is no need for you to obsess over killing Edelgard at the present. The majority of the former Blue Lions are back in one piece. Shouldn't that be enough to at least lift your spirits for a little?"

"I told you to leave me alone!" he shouted, his voice echoing throughout the church. The soft voices of the choir silenced, and you took a step back as he turned and glared at you.

"You were never like this back at the academy. What...happened to you?" you ask, concerned.

"A lot of things that do not concern you. Now, how about you make your way out of here before I force you out?"

Reluctantly, you leave to give Dimitri some personal space. He doesn't seem to be in the right state of mind to see you at this current moment. Has he really has changed for the worse, both on the surface and deep down?

Someone who used to be a caring prince abruptly turned to a feral boar. It makes you miss the days he would spend training with you and working together around the academy. There's no way that he could have completely lost himself just like that. You refuse to believe it, hoping that he has some of his humanity left.

So you visit him another day. The sight is the exact same; everyone keeping their distance from him and Dimitri giving the pile of rubble the same, empty stare. He heard your footsteps approaching, yet did not bother to turn around and face you while speaking.

"I told you to leave me alone," he said, "Why did you come back?"

"Because I am worried about you, just like everyone else!" you said. "You refuse to come out for training anymore and you push everyone away. What happened to the Dimitri that we all know and love?"

"The Dimitri you once knew is gone. All that remains is a beast. A mad beast who only desires bloody revenge."

You shook your head. "I refuse to believe you. You're far from a true animal. If you did not care about us, you would have slaughtered us all within mere seconds, like a vicious hog. I am going to keep coming to you until you listen, no matter how many times I have to disturb you."
