Society.
We, people, make society.
A place where there's criticism and judgment.
Where most people don't feel safe enough to let their masks down afraid of getting caught in lies who start unfolding slowly by slowly.
Where they don't feel safe enough to shout out to the world what they really want, what they feel and what are their dreams and hopes about.
Where they feel less of theirselves because everyone seems to fit in.
Where you start to feel lonely, miserable and depressed even.
That's what society consists of.
People who try to match fake qualities and fake attitudes into fake acceptance.People who wear themselves as illusions filled with desire of being defined beautiful.
This place we call society isn't a place where you could find everyone fully addressing the fact that we are all human, who like consoling ourselves with lies that we actually believe are true.
Everyone embraces the 'be yourself' phrase but watch out, you should dim a little of your light because that's not what we expected.
"Don't do this, it makes you look a certain way."
"Change, it's for the better", they all salute.
When does the part of being yourself actually roll in then?
Never.
You live in fear of being looked upon disgust. Your true self ? Hidden behind fake standards and requisites.
The real ones? Rarely ever exist but if you seek for betrayal, we have a whole sea dedicated to the fake.
Being popular and unworthy is what will get you praised. "Your worth doesn't matter", they all mumble.
Want to know why? Well, their worth hasn't been truly discovered if they spent their whole life trying to be someone they're not.
Females, bring each other down as if they were in a competition.
Men, salute each other for being 'jerks' because it will get them recognized.
Society. Yeah, that's what we make part of.
