"Lalisa! Lalisa! Lalisa!" The group of fan girls consisting of fifteen girls based on Jennie's estimate chants loudly like their lives depends on it, irritating the cat eyed girl who stands a few feet away from them.
"Too loud?" Soyeon asks.
Jennie realises that Soyeon is asking her because a look of infuriation mares her face. She is irritated but not because the fan girls are too loud but she'll take that. "Yeah."
"They're always like this to Lisa."
Jennie steals a glance at the group of girls. One girl who seems to be the instigator of the group stands out among the rest, the girl has a tiny but perfect nose, perfectly sculpted brow and long brown hair. She's cheering louder than anyone.
Almost everyone from the village is gathered by the beach today. It's the first day of the festival and one of the games is being held right now. Basically a line of young men and women are lined up just before the waters and they need to swim about a hundred meters to the ocean to reach the boat where a red flag is. Easy peasy like that.
According to Chaeng, Soyeon and everyone, Lisa was the champion last year so everyone's excited to see how this year would go. For the young ladies though, they just want to see their crushes topless.
There are about twenty competitors for the game. Lisa's standing somewhere kind of in the middle, Kai to her left and Jinho to her right.
"Ready to say goodbye to your title?" Kai asks.
Lisa smirks. "I still got a hard grip on it."
"Let's see about that."
"We're about to."
From where Jennie's standing, she gets a good full view of Lisa's back. The gray haired girl is only on her sports bra and oversized shorts and when ever she moves, her back muscles would flex, stirring something strange within Jennie.
"On your mark." Everyone's heart starts racing and it's absolute silence from now. "Get set." The competitors arch their backs to get a good starting run to the water. "Go!" Everyone rushes to the water and as soon as that happens, no one watching has no way of telling which one is which because of all the big splashes happening.
Jennie didn't notice it but the girl she was examining from the group of fan girls earlier has now migrated over to their area.
"Hi, Chaeng unnie." Someone unfamiliar to Jennie says beside them.
A not so enthusiastic smile plays on Chaeng's lips. "Nancy."
So Nancy is the name of the president of Lisa's fanclub, Jennie thought in her head.
"Hi, I'm Nancy." The shorter girl waves at Jennie eagerly.
"I'm Jennie." The cat eyed girl offers her a small smile.
"So, do you have anyone in particular you're cheering for or just watching?"
"Lisa, I guess?" Jennie slightly motioned around her to Soyeon and Chaeyong, a nonverbal question asking if it's not obvious that she's there to support Lisa given she's standing next to the Thai's cousin and best friend.
"Me too! We all are." Nancy points a proud finger towards her group of friends who are furiously cheering on Lisa.
"Lisa's biggest cheerleader is Nancy and her group of friend." Soyeon informs Jennie, a smile about to turn into laughter present on her lips.
"Yeah, they go all out every year. Too much, even." Chaeng adds on.
"Thank you for acknowledging our efforts, Chaeng unnie!"
