Gabentine One-Shots

Mother-In-Law:

Characters: Kate, Clem, Gabe.
Setting: Season 4, Richmond.
Plot: Kate comes and comforts Clementine after she has a nightmare about Gabe and AJ.

(OK so I know this really isn't a Gabentine one, but this was requested by Rachel787879, so I figured I'd do it. So without further a do, here we go. Hope you enjoy!)

Kate's POV:
I woke up in the middle of the night now because anything happened but just because that's what's been happening to me recently. For some reason I'll just wake up in the middle of the night for no reason. Maybe that's from me having to spend the night in the car for so many years where I don't know, but it's something that happens. I look next to me to  see Javi still asleep with his arm around me. I gently lifted his arm off of me so I could get up as I did lowered his arm onto his side. I then quietly got out of bed and left the room. I figured that while I was awake I should probably take a quick walk, just to get tired again. So that I went to the door and left our apartment.

I begin walking down the hallway as I didn't begin to hear a strange noise coming from Clementine's  dorm. "Huh? What was that?" I asked myself as I then decided to go inside to check on her to see if everything was OK. I open the door and walked inside as I then heard the same noise come from her room. I walked over to it and open the door to see Clementine tossing and turning in her bed. "Clementine?" I asked her hoping she would respond but instead she just kept tossing and turning. "Clementine, are you OK?" I asked her again while once again not getting a response. "No. No. Don't take them from me." I heard her say in her sleep. "Clementine." I said shaking her a bit so she could wake up. It worked as she then woke up and immediately began to start crying. "Clementine, what's wrong?" I asked her concerned. "It's nothing. It's just... It's just a bad dream." She told me. "Oh wow that must suck. What was it about?" I asked her. "It's nothing, don't worry about it." She then told me while she wiped away one of her tears.
"No, I'm going to worry about it. You married my step-son, which makes you my daughter-in-law. Which means I'm going to be here for you whether you want me to or not." I told her as she then looked away from me. "Now, what was it about?" I asked her if she still didn't answer me. "It... It was about Gabe." She finally told me after a while. "Really? What about him?" I asked her if she replied, "He's been out there for so long and that supplier and he went on today that I'm starting to think that maybe he's in danger. I tried to get my mind off of it but unfortunately I managed to find a way into my dream." "Oh Clem, I'm sure Gabe will be fine." I tried to reassure her. "But what if he's not? What if he is... If he is...." She said and starting to cry again. "Hey, it's ok. Let it all out." I told her putting her hand on her back while she began to sob. Honestly it was hard not to feel bad for her. She loves Gabe more than anything else in this world and if she were to lose him, I don't know what would happen but it would not be good. The two of them have known each other for years, falling in love with each other, and gotten married despite living in an awful world like this. Those two are like two peas in a pod that you cannot separate.
As I was caught in my thoughts, Clementine suddenly wrapped her arms around me and a huge hug which caught me by surprise. After the surprise look on my face with the way I put my arms around her as well. "I miss him." She then told me while crying into my shoulder. "I know you do. But it's going to be OK. You watch, he's going to show up right at the gate tomorrow morning, and he's going to give you the biggest hug. And the biggest kiss. He always does when he leaves and comes back." I told her if she then asked, "Are you sure?" She asked me. "I'm positive." I responded with a smile on my face as I got her to smile back at me. "Thank you. I mean it." Clementine told me wiping her tears away. "Hey don't mention it. You're family." She smiled again before I told her, "Try to get some sleep. I'll wait with you at the gate tomorrow morning for him." "Really?" She asked me surprised. "Absolutely. First thing tomorrow morning." I replied as that made her smile even more. "Well I'm gonna head back to bed now. Good night Clementine." I told her as I went to leave the room as she then replied, "good night Kate." I made it to the door before I saw her lay back down, close her eyes, and fall asleep again, this time with a smile on her face. I think quietly shut the door and left her apartment as I headed back to mine. "I think I'm going to pass on that walk now. Dealing with that is making me tired again." I thought to myself as I then re-entered my apartment, gotten in bed with Javi, and fell back asleep.

(Time Skip: The Next Morning.)
The next morning I woke up as I am mediately got out of bed to fulfill my promise to Clementine. Only to find her no longer in her apartment when I will get there. "Clementine? Where are you?" I asked as I looked around the apartment for her. I've been looked out the window to see her at the front gate, hugging Gabe as he had just returned like I said he would.
