Chapter three
Assigned

Before any of us could ask why they were sitting in the office our mother interrupted. "I know you all are wondering why you are here," Mom says looking at each one of us. "Before any of you say anything we have something to tell you all." My father says poking around the point, before finally getting to the point."Look kids you four have been selected to help some kids learn what it's like in a small town for the next two months."My mother finally blurts out letting out a breath she had been holding in. The room went completely dead silent, tension started to rise however was cut when Keith spoke up for the first time since he had arrived I am assuming. "When are they arriving?" Keith asked his bright brown eyes turning into a light crystal blue. Showing that he was worried about who they would be, and when they would arrive. "Well, that's the thing kids they happen to be arriving in an hour." My Father says "What!" We all shouted ironically in sync. "You will meet them after school, that is when we will get the list of who is assigned to you." Mom says in a soft calming voice "Now kids go back to class, and please don't tell any of your friends." Dad tells us we all head back. Different thoughts fill my head, like why are Mom and Dad letting strangers in our house? Who are they? How many are there? When I felt a tap on my shoulder I turned around to see the bright emerald green eyes of my best friend Angel. "Ken, what's wrong?" She asks as we walk to our next class "my parents told me I can't tell." I say quietly however feel extremely guilty for not telling her about this big thing. "Okay Ken," Angel says, nudging my shoulder signaling that everything will be okay. But only if she knew the strange whereabouts that will take place after school. Kennedy and her siblings were in and out of classes all day worried about what would take place after they returned home from school. Although the place seemed to be eternal torture they would prefer it than meeting a group of strangers who have to follow them around for a couple of months. Seemed way more tolerable than meeting new people. Who knew what their summer break had in store for them. Most kids would be going on vacation with their parents. Not getting fucking stalked over the summer break. Tick....Tick....Tick the last seconds had been slowly awaiting for all the kids in school. However, they seemed to be speeding by so quickly. Before Kennady knew it the final bell of the whole year had rung. Dread filled Kenaddy's entire body, as she slowly walked to her locker gathering her things. Looking overseeing her twin brother had been doing the same thing. Down the hall, her little sister Kora was down on her knees in her locker gathering everything. By the time they were done and had gotten out the door to see Keith's car parked in front of the school. Keith had been sitting in his crappy hand me down silver car with no air in it. However, he was grateful for a car to drive. While the kids were thankful for a simple short ride back home. You could practically see the house but no one wanted to walk. One the ride home and eerie silence crept among the passengers. The only noise was Keith's once again crappy music playing softly in the background. For once they were all grateful for Keith's music always playing.
