Chapter Five

Mom we're home!” Keith yells as we sling our bags on the kitchen table ready for this summer to be over with. “In here sweetie.” Mom says walking out of the bathroom and into the living room while throwing her long dark brown hair that from certain angles looks dark black in a ponytail. I look around for the kids who are allegedly supposed to follow us around all summer. Just as I was about to open my mouth to speak and ask where these kids are, my Dad spoke up. “They are upstairs, we are just waiting for a text from their managers.” Dad says and as if on cue Moms phone lets out a ding signaling that their managers got a text. Although I thought it was weird that Mom and Dad were so chill with all of this. I tried so hard to brush the feeling off, however in the end the thought still lingered in the back of my mind. “Lets go kids follow your Dad.” Mom says leading us up to their massive bedroom. My palms start to sweat making the mahogany railing feel sick while managing to make the short walk upstairs seem forever long. I try no to panic as I see the kids who will be following us around sitting on Mom and Dad’s bed waiting for us. Locking eyes with a boy he had short blonde hair messily covered with a dark grey beanie. They all felt to familiar to me however panic made my mind so fucking messy I couldn’t put my finger on who they were, for the moment anyways. “When you hear your name called go stand next to who you are assigned to, you kids manger say that’s what to do.''Mom reads from her phone the bright screen illuminating her face in this dimly lit room. Trying to break the tension, yet by this point you couldn’t cut the tension with a butcher’s knife. Dad hands us a sticker with our first names on it and tells us to stick it to our clothes. Therefore my twin brother sticks his nametag on his forehead like an immature moron. I roll my eyes at his actions while stifling a laugh. If looks could kill Kayden would be dead, Mom shot him a dark glare. Quickly fixing his placement of the tag before Mom calls out names. To be quite honest this all felt a bit like a satanic cult, is this where i find out my parents are leaders of some random satanic cult? “Keith come here your up first.” Mom says scrolling through her texts finding his pairing. “Finn Wolfhard and Jack Dylan Grazer you are with Keith.” Mom says not looking up from her phone screen. “Kora come here babygirl.’ Mom smiles looking at her patting her leg as if Kora is a puppy being trained. “Sophia Lillis you are with Kora.”Mom smiles watching as Kora clings onto Sophia.''My twins kennedy, Kayden you are up my dears.” She says I tense up grabbing Kaydens hand.Kayden looks at me giving my hand a small reassuring squeeze. “Wyatt Oleef and Jaeden Martell you two are with Kennady here. As for you last two you two are left with Kayden.” Mom says letting Kayden and I go with our assigned stalkers to our bedrooms. Grabbing our school bags off the kitchen table. As I plop down onto my bed it hits me where I know them from, the starred in Stephan King's 2017 adaptation of IT. In the back of my mind I am freaking out. Meanwhile on the outside I stare blankly lost in thought feeling their eyes burning into my side.''So I am gonna let you two unpack while I get ready to go to my friend Angel’s  house.” I say unbelievably however we were told to act like we normally would. Blindly walking into Kayden’s bedroom and grabbing my shirt back from him. I change in my bathroom although the water in te shower and toilet don’t work the lights and faucet do therefore I am okay with using it. I walk back out in my “Boys Suck!” shirt not thinking twice about the fact there are currently two boys in my bedroom right now.  “Alright you two done so I can get going?” I ask “Yeah,” Jaeden and Wyatt respond in unison. “Mom I am going to Angel’s house!” I yell walking out the backdoor knowing she doesn’t care. I pop in one ear bud riding alone to the beat.
