Thursday, November 2.
"Let's go over the plan," Ray decided upon seeing the expectant five waiting for him, "after lunch, once we get our free time, I'll distract Mom. Norman and Emma will climb the wall and inspect the vicinity. Don, Gilda, Aza, you three stay outside where you can see the south window of the second floor of the House."
Don and Gilda stared at the said window in confusion.
"We'll watch for Ray's signal, in case he fails to distract her," Azalea explained simply, "if he does, then we let Emma and Norman know to cancel the inspection."
"I'm sure she's suspicious," hesitated Ray, "I don't think she found anything, but I don't want to be too optimistic about it either... also, there's a possibility she won't fall for my distraction."
"If it happens... do we give up on the inspection?" muttered Don.
"Yeah, depending on the situation," the boy stated, swinging around a bucket, "listen, it's over when Mom thinks of us as uncontrollable. Her objective is to ship us out when we're mature... especially the four with perfect scores."
"She took extra care with our growth and would never want to ship us out prematurely," the girl murmured, recalling the previous night's events and shuddering slightly, "if she can control us, she'd rather do that, and she knows she can... that's just who she is."
"Even if she suspects something or doubts us," the black-haired boy gave her a side-glance before redirecting her attention towards the other four, "whatever you do, do not make a fuss. Just make her think we can still be controlled. Luckily, there's no regular shipment next month."
"We have six days until the plan is set into motion, but at most..." the girl deflated, "we... have two and a half months before January-" she avoided Ray's gaze "-when Ray reaches maturity and will be shipped out..."
"So if something happens, cancel the inspection immediately," Ray concluded, "got it?"
"Yes sir!"
"What is it?" he asked the quiet once the group dispersed.
"I... don't want you to be shipped out," she muttered timidly, her face reddening slightly as she gladly let her black hair fall over her face. The boy blinked, taken aback, before smiling gently, ruffling her hair affectionately.
"I'm not going anywhere, Azalea..."

"What?!" yelled Ray and Azalea in sync, the other two immediately shushing them as they changed to a loud, irritated hiss, "sorry... but what do you mean Sister found out we can break the tracking devices?!"
"There were benefits from the talk... but we screwed up," admitted Norman, "so... I want to move the escape. When can you remove the tracking devices?"
Ray remained silent, going over to his bed and fishing around for an object, eventually taking out a black box, the trio opening it and blinking, stating that it was an instant camera; the spy explained that it was a reward for selling the pair out, so now he had all the necessary pieces to break the tracking devices.
"I used to hide all of the rewards here," the boy grunted, budging Alicia's nightstand and moving it out of the way, the other children peeking over his shoulder.
"I never knew..."
"She shouldn't be able to find it that easily," the boy smirked, "instead... I'll give her different bait."
A cunning, dark smile played on his face as shivers ran up her spine.
"What exactly... did he do?" whispered Emma, Norman and Azalea shrugging.
"Either way... I really hope the inspection goes well..."
