Chapter 7

I woke up first, which was unusual for me. I was definitely not a person to wake up at...
8.05am! What was wrong with me?

I peered around the room, looking for signs that anyone was up. After finding that they were all in a deep slumber and I tiptoed out of the room and shut the door as quietly as I could.

I opened the half-open bathroom door to see Mike... coming out of the shower.

"Arghh!" I mentally cringed and looked away. Luckily he grabbed the shower curtain and it blocked out most of his body but I still, I had seen him naked! Horrible image... Not saying that he didn't have a good body, I just didn't want to see parts I didn't need to see...

"What the hell are you doing in here?" I screamed but then lowered my voice when remembering the others were asleep.
"What does it look like?" He smirked, and I turned around to see him safely wrapped in a towel.
"You can't just leave the door open when you're having a shower!" I hissed.
"Well I didn't think anyone would be up after the sleepover you had. You were talking up to 3am! I don't know how I got to sleep with the comments that I heard..."
"What did you hear?" I asked.
"Hmm can't remember. I remember the bit when you said I was fit." He chuckled.
I was probably blushing profusely but I ignored my face, remembering the moment when I had indeed say that.
"I think you heard incorrectly." I said weakly. I was out of comebacks. It was 8am freaking am in the morning my brain was not functioning well.
"Did I, huh?" He leaned closer to me.
"Can, can I please use the bathroom now?" I started tapping my foot, ignoring his face that that was a few inches from mine.
"Of course." He brushed lightly against me, touching my bare arm and my skin tingled from the contact. I shivered.
As soon as he was out of the room I hurried to the mirror and, realising my face was really red, I frowned and rubbed it roughly before splashing water on it.
Why are you so weak Lauren? You literally fall to pieces when you see Mike!
Maybe you might actually like him...
I shook my head. Seeing that my hair looked pretty unpresentable, I hurriedly flattened it, making it look slightly better, but then realising what I was doing I messed it up.
I wanted to look horrible, so maybe if my hair looked like a birds nest it would put off Mike.
"Why did you just do that?" I jumped. Mike was casually leaning against the door.
"Do you know how to put clothes on?" I asked him, crossing my arms.
"You can't answer a question with a question!"
"What did I do?"
"You know what you did."
"Why do you need to know why I did it?" I said and walked past him on the way back to my room.
"Well I know why you did it." He said smirking.
"So?" I acted like I didn't care.
"So I'm loving your hair." He said, winking before disappearing back into his room and shutting the door.
I stomped angrily into my room.
"Good morning." Celine said yawning.
"Hey. I'm still annoyed at Mike." I said angrily.
"You sound like you are. Quieten the voice and the footsteps! I've just woken up." Angela said, sitting up. Tara was by the mirror combing her hair.
"So did you sneak out to see him in the middle of the night?" Tara asked.
"No way! As if I would ever do that!" I shook my head.

About ten minutes later I went downstairs with the girls to watch some early morning TV. Their parents were coming to pick them up at 11.
Just as I was flicking through the channels I heard footsteps on the stairs and a body appeared.
"Do you have any idea how to put on clothes?!" I said.
"I told you I didn't. And I've put on shorts." He had put on a pair of shirts but was topless with his fit six-pack fully on show.

"Shorts are not enough! Go and put on a shirt." I screamed at him.
"No. Can I hang out with you guys?" The girls were trying not to stare at him as he say down beside me and slung his arm around my shoulder. His bare arm against mine was too much for me to handle and I pushed him away.

"Will you get off me?" I shoved him but he didn't fall off the sofa, unluckily for me. I saw the others quietly observing and I rolled my eyes. They were not going to get involved.
"You didn't tell me that last night..." He smirked.
Tara fake gasped. At least I thought it was fake...
"You..." I was lost for words.
"Mike, what are you doing with my sister?" Louis interrupted. He looked at Mike with an expression I couldn't comprehend and I looked at Celine and Angela who had puzzled expressions on their faces.
"Nothing, mate." He hopped off the sofa.
I rolled my eyes. I silently thanked Louis for interrupting but I was confused to why Louis had had that serious expression on his face. It was like he was protecting me from Mike. Mike had always been a protective brother even though he tried to hide it most of the time.

"Mike, can I talk to you for a second?" Louis said.
"Yeah sure." Mike looked distracted as he walked with Louis to the kitchen.

"I wonder what they're talking about..." Celine said.
"I'm gonna go check." I got up and wandered over to the kitchen door which was half shut.
I heard whispers coming from inside.
"You remember what I said." Louis said.
"What?" Mike said. I could pick out Mike's voice easily as it was much deeper than Louis'.
"I told you to stay away from my sister. We're mates, but that doesn't mean you can date my sister. It's out of line, Mike, you know it is. I know what you do to girls. Lauren is NOT one of those girls." Louis was deadly serious. The girls had now joined me and leant closer to the door.
"I know! Chill out. I can stay away from your sister. But there is no guarantee she'll stay away from me." Mike laughed as he quoted one of my favourite films '10 Things I Hate About You'.
"Come on Mike. You know she'll never even want to go out with you. She'd never even kiss you. Nothing is ever going to happen between you because she HATES you." Louis said loudly.
If only Louis knew what already had happened... I felt embarrassed and ashamed of myself. Louis knew that I hated Mike. He didn't know why though. At least I didn't think he knew why...
"Whatever I'll see you later okay." Mike huffed.
We moved away from the door just in time and I pretended I was rearranging the sunflowerpot. Really smooth, Lauren.

Mike looked around the room and smirked when he saw what we were doing. Tara had got to the sofa and was sitting down but the rest of us were at random places around the room. Angela was looking out of the window, and Celine was by me just on a chair by the flowerpot.
"Don't you have better things to do than listen in to people's private conversations?" He addressed us all and smirked, running up the stairs.
