My mom picked me up from that school, and we drove home in silence. When I arrived home, however, my stepfather was furious. He screamed at me, calling me a disappointment, a brat, a mistake, and other horrible things. My mom told me to go to my room but I still heard everything.

"I HAD TO UPROOT MY LIFE FOR THAT BRAT, AND SHE JUST GOT EXPELLED AGAIN?! I THINK IT'S TIME FOR MILITARY SCHOOL." "I don't want to send her to Military school. Besides, it was an accident. Some bullies broke her backpack and-" "I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE DUMB FUCKING BACKPACK. SHE'S 7 NOT 3!" And then I heard a slap and a gasp.

I felt that same feeling of bubbling anger and I ran out screaming. "LEAVE MY MOM ALONE YOU BUTTHEAD!" And then the pipes broke. I can't explain how, or why, but they exploded. Just like the water fountain at school.

He began to shout, calling me a freak and my mom a slut who slept around and got pregnant with a mistake. She looked furious and grabbed my arm before pulling me outside. She shoved me in the car and drove away, with him chasing the car but eventually giving up.

She was crying, and I asked "Mommy, are you okay?" She turned to look at me, wiping her eyes. "I love you, baby, you know that right? You're not a mistake, your father and I both loved you and wanted you so mu-" But she was cut off when we slammed straight into a truck and our car went flying.

When I came to, I was in an ambulance. My mom was not there with me. "Mommy?" A woman with a kind face looked at me. "Hey, sweetie. You woke up. How are you feeling?" "Where's my mom?" She looked at me sympathetically. "I'm sorry," "WHERE'S MY MOM!?!?!" I began screaming it over and over, rocking with my head in my hands.
