Chapter 4

So I don’t blame you because you’re the scorpion and stinging is in your nature.

The statement has been running through my head all day and I’m not too sure why. I should be proud at her words she’s right it’s my nature to harm others even at the cost of my own life, but for some reason the words were playing over and over as her voice echoed through my head. I felt as if I should be doing something to change her opinion of me and make myself an all round good person. I’m talking gibberish now the God of Mischief and Lies doesn’t do good. Great now I’m sounding childish.

“Loki your majesty.” The guard bowed down to me and continued speaking. “Surtur the King of Muspelheim is here to see you.”

I saw Kat’s head look up curiously from the book she had obtained from the castle’s library. She came to read it here as Thor said he had some errands to run. I nodded to the guard, stood up from my throne and walked down the stairs that lead up to it. He shouldn’t be here not today this wasn’t organised.

Surtur walked in and I bowed my head to him as he did to I. Kat continued to read her book silently eavesdropping on what we were saying.

“Loki I came to visit unexpectedly not for our plans but because I hear one of my people is staying here as your guest that I was unaware of.”

“I’m sorry I was unaware you didn’t know I’ll get her for you right away.” I turned to Katrina and saw her looking at us.

“Come.” I say to her and she places her book down getting up from her seat and walks over to us she curtsies to the both of us.

“Yes King Loki?” She asks politely she is a rather good actor.

“Would you like to explain to Surtur why he was unaware of you being a guest here?” She sent me a glare without showing Surtur I presume it’s for throwing her in the deep end.

“I am no longer a civilian of Muspelheim your majesty, as I’ve been living in Midgard for the previous period of my life.” She spoke to him. He then said something in their language and I almost had a heart attack she isn’t going to understand him, her cover will be blown but to my amazement the words that come out of her mouth were fluent in their mysterious language.

“Thank you Loki for clearing this up for me.” I am very confused.

“Was that all you came for?” I asked.

“Yes but I’ll see you for our meeting later on this week.” I nod to him and he leaves.

“What was that Katrina?” I whispered harshly.

“What are you talking about?” She went to walk off but I grabbed her arm.

“How did you know how to speak their language?”

“What do you mean? I was speaking English.” She says laughing.

“No you weren’t.” I say seriously. She stopped laughing looking at me in the eyes with her beautiful hazel red ones and I think she knew I was telling the truth.

“But what does that mean? What? How? But my parents...”

“Mustn’t have ever been your parents.”

“I need to go to Earth and I need to talk to Fury you have to take me back Loki you have to let me ask him what the hell is going on.”

“I have a better idea.”

He took my hand and dragged me throughout the palace and into what I’m guessing is his room.
