adrinette - confession gone wrong I

today was the day. marinette was going to confess to adrien. she told all her friends about it and they were all rooting for her. they all walked to school together getting ready for the big confession.

"alya! what will he say?! im so nervous ahhhhhhh. will he reject me?! will he say he likes me back?! ughhh this was such a bad idea!"

"calm down marinette. i believe in you, everything will be fine."

as alya reassured her best friend, she became more confident. everyone was cheering for her now- juleka, rose, mylene and alix. they were all sure that adrien would accept her.

they arrived at the school a few minutes before class started. marinette and her friends walked up to the locker room scanning the area to look for adrien.

"he's there!" alya exclaimed to her group of friends.

they all wished marinette good luck as she walked up to adrien who was getting books from out of his locker. marinette walked up to him standing against the locker that was next to his.

"hey marinette!"

the girl jumped, "ummm hi adrien. i uhhh have something to tell u." marinette said nervously, averting her gaze from his."

"sure thing." adrien said looking at her with a gentle smile, unsure of why she was looking so nervous.

"well, i really wanted to tell u, for... for a long time now and i reallly wasnt sure if u... if u felt the same..."

adrien then started looking at her worringly hoping this wouldnt go the way he thought. he was already in love with ladybug and it wouldnt be fair to marinette if he ended up liking her too.

marinette saw adriens expression change and immediately regrets her decision on telling him. she quickly looks back at her friends who sign to tell her to keep going, although their expressions had changed too, to a slight worry. marinette started to feel less confident and was staring at the floor, considering to keep the conversation with her looking down to not see adriens face.

"i uhhh.... just wanted to tell you.." she considers changing what she is going to say but realises that there was no turning back now. "okay, i wanted to tell you that.. that i like you, and i have for a long time. i really like you and was hoping that you would feel the same and-

"oh." adrien started, "im really sorry marinette but i-"

she stopped him right away, "no its ok, i get it really. i understand why u wouldnt feel the same about me, i mean, just look at me! who could possibly like me, right?" marinette laughed nervously,she was rambling, she wasnt prepared for the conversation to go like this.

"no! its not that marinette really-"

"its ok, honestly. you dont have to explain yourself. im ok"

adrien could tell that marinette wasnt ok. she was still not looking at him and he saw that she was on the brink of tears

"marinette, your great and all but.. theres this other girl-"

oh.

there is another girl.

he likes someone else.

how could she not have seen this before? all his day dreaming during class, it was because he likes another girl. she must have been pretty amazing then, much more amazing than marinette thought she herself was. this girl must be really awesome if she were to capture the heart of adrien agreste, one that marinette couldnt.
