flash back.
"is that what you want tobin?" alex asked frustratedly into the phone while on facetime with her girlfriend at the time tobin heath, alex could see the frustration on the girls face over facetime. "what do you think alex?" tobin said coldly, "fine. whatever. have fun at football camp" alex said with a bite as she rudely hung up the phone on her now, ex, she guessed. once the call ended she let her tears slip, and not before long her neighbor and bestfriend, sydney leroux came crawling through her window.
"shhh. come here." sydney coo'd as she wrapped alex up, ''damn it heath' she cursed in her head. "it's over" alex sobbed into her friends shoulder, "it's gonna be fine al, you'll figure it out" syd tried to reassure the other forward while she hoped Dom would talk some sense into tobin when she got back from her camp.

1 week later.
"al!" syd hollered from the bathroom, "yeah?" alex called back from her space in the closet. "my curls look okay?- mmm damn girl! everyone's gonna be eating you up tonight!" syd exaggerated as she watched her friend come out in a pair of short shorts and a lacey top with heels. it had been a week since tobin and alex split and syd was thankful to see alex trying to move on. "whatever syd" alex giggled as she applied some last minute touch ups to her hair and make up before grabbing syds elbow and dragging her out of the house and into her car to head to servando's.
3 hours later
"SUMMER ISNT OVER YET BITCHES!" alex yelled out from where she stood on the pool table next to pinoe with a bottle of grey goose in her hand as she continued to take swigs. "WHOOO HELL YEAH! A-MORGS GONE WILDDDDD!!" pinoe hollered.
"alex! hey al! alex!"
alex finally looked down to a smirking face and due to the alcohol she couldn't really see who it was as she let them help her down.
based on the smell of axe body spray and the way he whispered in her ear, she began to realize, that she didn't care as she let him lead her to his room.
"i'm following you carrasco" alex grinned with a hint of seduction in her tone.

*the next day*
alex woke up with a blinding headache and a weird body next to her, looking over and seeing the dark hair and back, panicked.
"i just fucked tobins teammate" she let the realization hit.

*present*
alex sat in her room arranging her school supplies in her bag before their first day tomorrow when a knock on the door disturbed her. "alex sweetie. someone's here" alex's mom pam said kindly, alex got up as she walked to the door and her eyes went wide.
tobin stood at the door in her diamond bar high football hoodie and shorts with a bouquet of flowers and a gift bag in her hand.
"heath" alex said that sounded more of a question than a statement, "hey alex" tobin said cautiously but couldn't help but smile at the sight of the girl she hadn't seen all summer.
"what are you doing here?" alex asked quite annoyed, "i fucked up al. i miss you" tobin said quietly as she looked at her feet. "yeah. you did fuck up. i'll see you at school tobin" alex said bitterly getting ready to close the door but tobin held it open with her arm that was stronger than alex's two. "okay i get it. i'll give you some time but here. i got you somethin" tobin said as she handed alex the bag and flowers before stepping back and heading to her jeep, "it's good to see you alex." she threw over her shoulder along with a sad smile as she climbed in and drove off.
alex ran back up the stairs to her room as opened the bag, inside was a UNC hoodie with "heath" on the back and a pretty bracelet that had soccer ball charms and a little heart with the two girls numbers, 17 & 13.
alex reached for her phone to call syd but before she can dial the number she can hear syd shimmying up the drain pipe into alex's room.
"sooo i'm guessing you saw all that?" alex asked as she tossed the hoodie down on her bed and leaned back into her pillows. "ohhh yeah. care to explain?" syd raised an eyebrow at her friend. "3 words. i hate highschool" was all alex said before shutting her eyes trying to shut out the world.

"senior year buddy" dom told tobin as the two did their signature hand shake as they walked into the building, "ready to be state champs?" he turned to her and ask but rolled his eyes when he saw her eyes on the alex morgan walking in with sydney. "hey! tobs! eyes on the prize!" dom tried to remind her but she turned to him with sad eyes, "i just want my girl back" she mumbled as she walked ahead to her first period. "SYDNEY!" dom called after his girlfriend knowing they both needed to intervene if they had any hopes of being state champs this year.

"hey alex, funny seeing you here" tobin chuckled nervously as she just so happened to have caught up to alex, "seriously tobin? we've gone to the same school since freshman year" alex replied back with no humor in her response. "right yeah totally" tobin mumbled as she watched alex walk off.

"tobin. come on. i need your head in the game here" dom reminded his best friend and teammate, "relax dom i'm perfectly fine" tobin said cooly, "really cause carrasco s being eyeing your position since day one and if you play the way you warmed up-" tobin interrupted dom before he could finish. "you wanna play football or you wanna keep talking about carrasco" tobin asked bitterly as she brushed past him and towards the team, dom knew he hit a sore spot but he needed her head on football. sure enough her practice wasn't up to par, she did just as good as everyone else could've and made longer kicks than the rest of them but dom could tell she was off.
after her shower he opened his mouth to talk to her as they headed to their cars, "i don't want to hear it dom" she warned, dom closed his mouth but re opened it, "just go talk to her" he said, tobins face softened as she turned to him, "yeah?" she asked. "yes, go get your girl tobs" he smiled as he gently shoved her towards her jeep. "i'll text you bro. see ya!" she hollered out as she hopped into her jeep.
"alex. please take her back" dom silently prayed in his head as he watched his friend drive off.
alex got home from practice a little later than usual after hanging with the team for dinner and was suprised to see tobins black jeep in her driveway. she drove past it and couldn't help but smile as she saw tobins head against the window and her eyes closed gently. "yep. tobin could sure sleep alright" alex chuckled to herself before getting out and walking over. she knocked on the window and tried to hold in her laugh as tobin jumped back clearly scared shitless. "jesus!" tobin began to curse but stopped when she saw alex with a slight smile on her face. the two looked at eachother before alex looked down and back up with a sigh, "what are you doing here tobs?" she asked, "i miss you and you haven't exactly been speaking to me lately" tobin told her honestly, "speaking to you? well obviously we're broken up remeber?" alex scoffed slightly, tobins eyes widened as she jumped out of her jeep. "woah! who said anything about breaking up! i thought we just got into a fight!" tobin exclaimed, "shit shit shit!" alex internally cursed herself in her head. "alex?" tobin questioned, "i just i-" alex stuttered, "i just thought that we had kinda broken up" alex said quietly. "al. i never said that" tobin chuckled not sarcastically or coldly but just from the confusion, alex looked at her with wide eyes. "does it really matter? come on babe, i'm sorry we got into a fight but i just i wanna get back to where we were" tobin said inching slightly closer to alex, "yes tobin! it totally matters!" alex once again said in her head. "okay" alex said looking down, "maybe she'll just never have to find out, i'll talk to serv first thing tomorrow and boom it'll be like it never happened" alex plotted in her head.
"okay?" tobin questioned again as she stood inches infront of alex, "okay" alex said again looking into tobins brown eyes. tobin smiled as she wrapped her arms tightly around alex's shoulders, resting her chin on the top of her head as alex's arms went around her waist. "i missed you" tobin breathed out, alex was about to respond but her mother cut in, "i missed you too tobin! come in and tell us all about football camp, i made meatloaf!" pam said with a wide smile from the doorstep, tobin quickly dropped her arms from around alex, "meatloaf?!" she said excitedly, pam nodded as she walked back into her house. "ya know. my moms not single right?" alex teased, "i don't know, no one can resist my heath charm" tobin gave her her signature smile. "mmm i'm getting ready to cause you stink!" alex teased her and screamed as tobin wrapped her arms around her again forcing her head into her smelly shirt from practice. "tobin! stop! ew!" alex squealed while laughing, "take it back!" tobin challenged, when alex shook her head no tobin just shrugged and held her closer, "ew ew okay! you win! you're not smelly!" alex yelled her head hurting from laughing so hard. "magic word" tobin said, alex smiled and leaned into her lips, "i love you" she whispered against them before pecking them lightly and grabbing her hand to lead her into the house.
alex watched as tobin and her mom and dad interacted with eachother, they loved tobin from the start, alexs dad was a huge football fan and once he heard she was talking to the star kicker he automatically shipped them. alex smiled as she watched her mom smile at tobin as she helped her wash the dishes, "that damn heath charm" she shook her head and giggled before walking over to go help.
