Chapter 21

"Holy cow! Are you serious!?" Jin exclaimed.

"Was that Jackson?" Jin inquired, pausing mid-bite. Jackson had been deliberately sleeping in lately to avoid facing Ayumi, especially when the entire family was present.

"Frosty, are you alright?" Taehyung yelled loud enough for Jackson to hear.

"Yup! I am perfectly fine! It's my mom again. She's in the hospital..." Jackson's voice wavered slightly, but they seemed to accept his explanation.

"Aish, why can't we contact Lisa!?" Jennie hissed angrily. They all looked at her with puzzled expressions. You see, before Lisa set foot in Thailand, she disabled her own phone to avoid any disturbances. This was especially true after the incident with Jennie. Nancy knew about it since, during the ride to the airport, Lisa had asked her to disable her phone. She acted as if she didn't know anything.

"I think she forgot to bring her phone charger. She usually forgets to bring one when she's in a hurry. Plus, she's too lazy to buy a new one, so she'll most likely just toss her phone," Jackson said casually as he walked out of the room, massaging his temple. He looked devastated as he took a seat, not realizing he was sitting beside Ayumi.

"Here, hubby, enjoy your meal... or allow me the pleasure of feeding you," Ayumi said, presenting him with a plate brimming with a variety of delectable dishes.

"Are you out of your mind? It's too much; I can't possibly devour all of this," Jackson exclaimed in disbelief, eyeing the overflowing plate.

"Who said you have to consume it all? We'll share, hubby, just like any loving couple does," Ayumi suggested, playfully wiggling her eyebrows.

"Uh, no thanks. I'm already full," Jackson responded, dodging what felt like an impending barrage of persuasion.

"Oh, you're no fun. Hmph!" Ayumi pouted, casting him a disappointed look with puppy-dog eyes. Jackson let out a deep sigh, remembering that the entire Gremory Family was present. Despite his hesitations...

"Fine, feed me," Jackson mumbled, his gaze directed towards the ceiling, his cheeks slightly flushed from embarrassment.

"Yay! Here comes the airplane. Say 'ahh~,'" Ayumi said, lifting a spoonful of food toward Jackson's mouth. He looked at her with a flustered expression.

"I'm not a baby," Jackson mumbled, but his surprise was evident when Ayumi glared at him.

"A-ahh..." Jackson reluctantly forced his mouth open, and Ayumi's face lit up as she fed him.

"Oh, someone's under," Dahyun teased him, earning a glare from Jackson, while his friends couldn't help but snicker.

"Jouko, dear, your younger sister mentioned that she'll be coming here with her family," Serius said, taking a seat next to his wife.

"Ah, that's fantastic! The more, the merrier!" Mrs. Jouko exclaimed joyfully.

The enthusiasm wasn't shared by everyone, however. Jackson, Seulgi, Dahyun, Jin, Taehyung, Rosé, and Jungkook sighed collectively.

"Oh, um, Jin?" Jackson nervously spoke up.

"Yeah?" Jin replied, taking a sip of water.

"Can we talk? Privately, just the two of us?" Jackson asked meekly.

"Whoa, is this a confession? Are you gay, Frosty?" Taehyung and Jungkook chimed in unison.

"Idiots! No! I just need help!" Jackson scolded them, giving their heads a light smack.

"Please, Jin?" Jackson pleaded, looking at him with earnest eyes.

"Sure," Jin replied simply. The two of them stood up and walked about 10 meters away from the others.
