7) Thanks For The Memories

I woke up with a huge headache. "Ah fuck." I said, Jaehyuk woke up with a smirk. "What fuck?" He asked, I looked at him disgusted and hit him. "Disgusting. My head hurts dumbass." I said, Jaehyuk nodded and got out of the room, he walked back in with water and an advil pill. I drank it. Suddenly memories have flown in. "Jae."

"Hmm?" He asked. "I remember everything." I said, his eyes widened as he sat next to me. "Everything?" He asked and I nodded. "No memory was missing from how I got here..." I whispered, Jaehyuk sighed and pulled me into a hug. "So.. does that mean you will leave?" He asked, I nodded as tears escaped my eyes. "Yes... we don't know what side effects would be of me staying here for too long." I said with a shaky voice, we pulled away from the hug and I wiped my tears. "Sorry.. I stained your shirt again." I chuckled, he moved some hair behind my ear. "Its ok. Let's go back to sleep, its 3am." He said and I nodded. We both laid back on the bed again and fell asleep, knowing we don't have much time left together.

I woke up in Jaehyuk's embrace. I tried getting out of bed but he tightened his hold. "Let's stay like this for a little." He whispered. I sighed and agreed. "When are you leaving?" He asked, kissing the top of my head. "Tomorrow." I said looking at him, he frowned. "That's too soon." He said, I shrugged. "I'm not sure what would happen if I stay here any longer Jae, passing between universes has got to have some kind of side effects and I don't want to find them out. How about we spend today to the fullest?" I asked, he sighed and nodded. I smiled widely and so did he. We both got out of bed.

It was already 10am, Jaehyuk's mom wasn't home. She left a letter saying she had to hurry over to work today so she had no time to make food for us. "Do you want pancakes?" I asked, Jaehyuk smiled and nodded. I started making the pancakes, I tied my long hair as it got in the way, I heard footsteps behind me and someone hug me. "Jae, stop, I'm trying not to burn the pancakes." I said, he sighed and kissed my cheek. "But its romantic." He whined and I chuckled.

I finished making the pancakes. I put them on the dining table and we ate them. "Hey Haneul..." Jaehyuk said, "Hmm?" I asked. "I love you." He said, tears formed in my eyes. "I love you too Jae... but we can't be together." I said, crying now. He quickly came over to my side. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry." He said, while hugging me, I pulled away from the hug and smiled. "Its ok Jae, its not your fault." I said, he wiped away my tears. How about.. we go walk around Han river and then eat lunch?" He asked, I smiled and nodded. "That sounds great, let me get ready."

Me and Jaehyuk walked around the Han River, hand in hand. I had my mask down now, hoping no one would recognize me. We sat down at one of the benches, I leaned my head against his shoulder. "I'm sorry Jae.." I said, he looked at me confused. "I'm causing you harm. I'm probably acting selfish for wanting to go back to my world."

Jaehyuk sighed. "No.. you aren't. We don't know what would happen if you stay here, its the safest option and the best option." He said. "Even if we don't get to be together forever, we still will have the memories we made until the day we die. And that's the most important thing."

A tear escaped my eye, Jaehyuk chuckled and wiped it away. "That was beautiful Jae.. you're right, the journey is what's important." I said, he chuckled and side hugged me. "Its gonna be ok. We will both come back to our original lives. Like its meant to be." He said, glancing at the river in front of us, I nodded with a sad smile, glancing forward too. "My time with you was great, Yoon Jaehyuk."

"Mine too, Lee Haneul." He said, we both smiled at each other and he pecked my lips quickly. "Thanks for the memories."

We both arrived at a small restaurant for lunch. We entered the place and ordered our food. We both ate it while making small talk in between. Suddenly Jaehyuk chuckled. "What?" I asked. "You have food leftovers here." He said, pointing into a place next to his lips, I took a napkin and tried wiping it away. "Did I get it?" I asked, he shook his head, took my napkin and wiped it instead. "There." I blushed lightly and we continued our meal.

Once we finished eating we walked back home. "This is the last time we'll get to ever hang out." Jaehyuk suddenly said, I sighed, nodding. "Yeah.. I decided to leave tonight instead." I said, Jaehyuk's eyes widened. "Why?!"

"Well.. its safer for me to go back once the trains stop working, so that I wouldn't get accidently killed, you know." I sighed, Jaehyuk nodded, sighing too. "Then leave tomorrow night." He said, I shook my head. "The sooner the better. I'll leave around 1am."

"Then let me at least walk you there, its dangerous to walk alone at night." Jaehyuk requested, I nodded agreeing. Its better to travel with someone in the middle of the night. We arrived home, I smiled weakly at Jaehyuk and he did the same. It hurts to know that there isn't a possibility they'll meet in the future. But at least, they'll have the memories they shared together and a once in a life time experience. Jaehyuk lightly kissed my lips. "I love you." He said, I smiled but it didn't quite reach my eyes. "I love you too."
