Their POV;
"Alright Nate, bet you've got a lot to tell", Elena insisted while assisting Nate and Sam with bringing the bags inside.
"What's there to tell?" Sam answered. "My little brother, who happens to be your husband, did a stupid mistake, again."
He threw himself on the couch, stretching his arms and neck. Meanwhile, Nate brought some bottles of refreshing beers from the kitchen. Sully refused and went to the porch to have a taste of nicotine.
"Where is Cassie btw?" Nate wondered.
"She's upstairs, sleeping", Elena joined them on the couch. "I'm glad y'all okay, but what's the story about the new girl?"
Nate had a sip of the cooling beer.
"Long story short. We found her at our Hotel place in LA. Weirdly enough, she knows everything about us. Inside out."
"According to her assumes, she recognizes us from a stupid game called "Uncharted" whatever shit she's gibbering about", Sam added as he shook his head while taking a huge sip in one go.
Elena made a weird look on her face."Y'all sure you're okay? your speech sounds irrelevant."
"Trust me, almost like we're doubting ourselves soon. Anyhow, now to the main subject, she will be a huge help on our new tour", Nate continued.
"She? and what precisely could she do?" Elena asked in jest.
"She's prompt for the artifact we're looking for", Nate marked out.
Elena looks at Sam's unhappy expression and smiles intentionally as she raises from the sofa, pacing to the window, looking through it.
"Poor little thing. She doesn't know what she's brought into."
My POV;
I was lost. Lost in thoughts. The soft sand corns ran through my squeezing fingers. The water of the sea nudged my finger toes whenever it washed up the shore. The smell of salt and fresh air infiltrated my nostrils. The scenery caught me off guard, or the fact that I was at Nate's place . I couldn't believe it.
"Are u alright, kid?"
I was abrupted by a deep, rusty old voice. I turn my head then back to the ocean view again.
"Yeah, sort of."
"I know this is a lot to digest. I would have felt the same if I were in your position", Sully kneed down next to me.
"If you were, but you aren't."
"What do you mean?"
I face him now."It means that you won't be able to understand what I'm going through, that's the difference."
That was my only response to Sully. Both them and I knew the situation going on, it's worthless to nag about it, constantly.
"We will stay overnight and head off tomorrow morning", he patted on my shoulder and walked away.
West Asia, huh? I chuckled. With them, with Samuel Drake himself. Wow. I used to imagine about exploring places with Sam back home in my real life, now when it's happening, I'm not quite satisfied. But why tho? why do I long for home all of sudden? my bed, my ps4 console, work, my mom, times when I sat on my bed, playing games. Am I starting to lose my mind? Or is this just another dream that I wake up to sooner or later. I ran my hand through my long, ash brown hair and felt the breeze brushing in my face, breathed deeply from the bottom of my lungs to brighten up a little before I decided to go back to Nate's house.
They all became quiet when I entered the hallway and paced slowly to the living room where they were gathered. Their eyes locked on me the whole time.
"Uhm... hi."
"Come, sit here", Elena escorted me to a chair near the crew. "Want anything to drink? tea, coffee or a beer?"
I look at Elena, closely. She's got that humble and friendly appearance, just like in the game. I smile widen.
"Tea, pls."
"Tea on its way", she uttered cheerfully while hurriedly disappeared to the kitchen.
I observe the others. Sam was watching American fotball on TV, Sully too. Nate was, as usual, marking different spots and locations on the Asian map that was placed on the living room table.
I itch my upper arm, looking around in the room. Everything looks like in the game, every single detail. I could see Elena preparing the tea in the kitchen cuz it was a one suite room, kitchen and living room combined.
"Damn it! So close", Sam shouted. I couldn't help staring at him. His one elbow was resting on the armchair, fingers supporting his chin, focused on the current gameplay. His honey orbs aimed at me now and my cheeks turned into a light shade of pink.
"Do you ever watch American football in Sweden?" he asked, concentrating on the game again.
"No, not really..."
"Hmm," he answered.
"But we do watch soccer."
"Soccer? are u British or what?" he teased.
"We do learn British English at Swedish schools. American English only on TV shows and series."
"I see", he answered careless. He didn't bother to ask any more questions.
"There you go, sweetie", Elena came back with a mini, serving tray in her hands. "I don't have so many options when it comes to tea, I'm afraid."
"Don't worry, this will do", I grab the mug in my hand, shyly. "Thank you."
Elena joined us, her eyes glued on me. I huddle a bit, and tuck my hair behind my ear, feeling awkward and sort of left out, knowing that I was the "newcomer" in their squad.
"So, did you enjoy the sea view?" she asks.
I took a careful sip of the hot tea before giving her an answer."Yeah-uhm... I've seen it before so I wasn't expecting anything else."
Elena furrowed her brows, nodded her head in a sketchy way. I take another sip to seal the cringeworthy moment. "Is there anything else you presumably know that you would like to tell us, I mean me?"
"I know that you're a former journalist. You have a daughter named Cassie, also, you weren't aware that Nate had a brother until his last trip to Libertalia, cuz Nate believed he had lost his daring brother", I look at Sam while stating it, confirming that I know everything. He pretended that he didn't hear that.
Elena couldn't believe what she was experiencing. Now I had to chance to take my revenge on them all for treating me badly by spoiling Nate's and his romantic session with Chloe Frazer in Uncharted 2 gameplay a long time ago.
"Oh, and Nate had a fling with Chloe Frazer in where was it? Tibet? Shambala?"
"Alright, that's enough!" Nate interrupted repulsively, Sam choked on his beer and cough.
"Goddamn kid! We've gotta be careful, she surely got some research on all of us", Sully warned while hitting on Sam's back.
Sam couldn't stop coughing that gradually converted into laughter. It was the very first time time I witnessed Sam laughing and it was adorable. I sincerely wished he could be more open to me, smile regularly, and stop being a cocky ass bitch. His cheerful moment put a smile on my face too, but I darkened it cuz I was still mad at him since the morning.
"Mom? Dad?"
The atmosphere changed when Cassie made herself present out of the blue, standing in the living room.
