I ran as fast I could to the bus stop, half awake. I had overslept and had to wear the shirt i had worn to sleep.
Nice Derek. Real classy.
It wasn't a bad shirt, my dallas stars hockey jersey. I'd had enough time to slip on some jeans and a snapback to cover the mess of hair on my head.
The bus screeched to a halt and I slumped on, dropping myself in the space next to Ryan. Anyone would've believed me if I told them he was a hippy.
He wore normal clothes, a tshirt and jeans etc. but his beard and long hair would beg to differ.
Ryan turned towards me in his seat.
"Dude, no offence, but you look like shit. Thought I'd tell you before every girl in the school drools over you and your ego gets too inflated." he laughed hitting his thigh while he did so.
I rolled my eyes and sank back in my seat.
"I look like shit everyday, Ryan. I have no clue when I ever became 'boyfriend material' anyway," I said adding air quotations around boyfriend material.
Ryan sighed and looked out the window.
"Derek, you do know that Abigail Peterson said you were hot as hell and she would do anything to get with you?" Evan added, appearing from the seats behind me and Ryan.
That meant that everyone was 'going to try and get with me because the main popular wants my dick even though I'm taken'.
"Are you kidding me? I would ne-" Ryan stopped me mid sentence and pointed to the female figure walking down the bus aisle.
It was Abigail.
"Hiiiiii Derek." She said stopping infront of where I was sat.
"Um, yeah hi Abi...." I replied, adjusting my cap, out of nervousness.
She squealed and tapped my nose. "You've already given me a nickname, oh my gosh!!"
Ryan and Evan tried to contain their laughter, letting a slight chuckle out.
Abigail was smacking some bright pink gum around her mouth, "Excuse me, what's so funny? Me and Derek are so cute together."
This time I laughed a little too.
"Abigail, there's nothing between us, we aren't together, I'm with Emily." I said, resulting in her turning bright red with embarrassment.
She quickly hurried to the back of the bus and sat there in a strop.
"Get some Derek.." Evan said before cracking up and bursting into laughter causing Ryan to laugh too and me to go bright red.

10 minutes later we pulled up infront of the school. We got off the bus and started to stroll towards building that contained our form rooms.
My eyes darted around to find Tyler and possibly Emily, my current not yet girlfriend.
"Woah, woah. woah. Is Tyler? With a cute girl?" Evan laughed pointing towards the main school building that contained the main desk/reception.
"I didn't see her face but she's a girl wearing skinny jeans and a hoodie so she's got some balls on her obviously." I said.
Every girl wore supe girly clothing and bright colours, even the 'outcasts' dressed up for school.
I never understood that, why look nice for school?
Emily dressed like a girly girl, which I didn't mind but I'd told her before she didn't need to because she looked nice in whatever she had on.
She would then reply with a "derek you don't understand all girls need to look nice to impress the people around you" and playfully hit me and I'd force a laugh and say "yeah i guess."

We had walked over to our form room and met up with Tony. Ryan was talking about tuning guitars when a pair of hands covered my eyes to be followed with a "Guess who?"
I mentally sighed and forced a smile across my face, grabbing the hands and turning around.
"Emily." I smiled, she leaned forward and pecked my lips before lacing her hands with mine.
"Morning boys!" She cheerily said, interrupting the others conversation. They mumbled a few 'hellos' and 'mornings' back at her, resuming their conversation.
"Come on Derek, skip form and hang with me for a bit, I hardly get you to myself anymore." Emily said tugging my arm up the hallway and towards a janitor's closet.
