Chapter 4: The Feeling (Arlo's POV)

'UGH! What is this feeling!?' thought Arlo, frustrated. Arlo didn't know what was happening. When he looked at Elaine he felt his heart go badump, badump, badump. 'WHY. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING??'he thought again looking up at the gloomy, gray sky. Ever since John started attacking students, Arlo had felt a deep, sincere feeling in his heart when he thought or saw Elaine. Which was REALLY strange cause the King of Asses was very cold hearted and caculating... Arlo stared at the sky thinking 'If only I could've went back in time and stopped this horrible mess..that I'd started...'. He knew wishes were no use in reality so his only reliance was power. But John had completely out shined him in that... and with the goddess Seraphina gone, nothing would work out and John's tyrany would continue. He'd still remembered when Isen called "He uses these excuses to hit people..." and when the hallways were filled with murmuring students all agreeing that he was a complete hypocrite. Just then, something- no someone came and joined him on the rooftops. Arlo was extremely annoyed by the interupption and called out "Go away. I've been dethroned. Don't try to reason with me.". Silence. 'This is strange. No arguing. No talking....'. He turned his head and his eyes widened in shock. "Elaine?".

"Oh..u-uh hi Arlo! Uh-" started Elaine quickly before Arlo stopped her. "What Elaine. You might as well say it.". Elaine blushed and Arlo immediately turned his head to hide the tinest hint of pink. "Well...Remi's sent me to tell you that are you coming to the Safehouse. YOU did promise." said Elaine STILL blushing really hard. Arlo sighed. 'This place must have reminded Elaine when he told her she was quite bold to talk to him like that. He then remembered how quickly he added that she was questioning his thoughts to hide his blush and thoughts of her describing her.'. "I'm not going." he replied with a straight tone. "Bu-but....we NEED you Arlo.... Ineedyou..." she muttered quickly before yelling "AHHHHH!". Arlo looked shocked. "Elaine...did you just confess something to me?" he said still thinking about her shy words. "Affshvd! Uhhhhhh well I guess you won't be there, uhhhh-" she was suddenly cut off by Arlo. "No. I'll come." he said staring at her. Elaine stared back and then she answered "G-g-great! Come on!". Then the two awkwardly walked down the stairs  in silence together.

"Where's Arlo and Blyke?" questioned Remi to Isen as they discused the school news with Roland, Evie, and one of their low-tier friends. "Dunno. Seraphina's not here either... I hope she's okay..." added Evie worridly. Isen nodded and said "Well I hope Elaine comes soon. I need her! to heal me of course..". "Yeah I won-" said Roland as he was abrubtely cut off by the door slamming open. Arlo was there followed by Elaine blushing. 'I can't believe I'm here...what made me do it anyway..' thought Arlo scanning the room. His eyes moved to Elaine and he blushed. Quickly walking to Remi and Isen, he whispered to Elaine "DON'T tell THEM about our conversation here. Elaine nodded, a little shy smile meeting her eyes. Arlo blushed. 'GOD DAMN! WHY ARLO. YOUR BEING SUCH AN IDIOT.' he scolded himself as he quickened his pace. Suddenly, another thought sprang into his mind 'But I really like her so-'. Arlo gasped. He growled and yelled to his brain mentally, 'WHAT ARE YOU DOING??'. Then he quickly went to distract himself before anymore of his rouge thoughts began to haunt him.

"Hey Arlo, you okay?" asked Elaine shyly looking at her crush. "I'm fine. Now Pinky, would do you mean Blyke's not here.". "He went to go fetch a few games.. I don't what could stop him..." said Remi her eyes scrunched up in worry. "He'll be FINEEEE. I mean his level is about 4.5 to 4.8!" said Isen waving away the worries However a few minutes later, Blyke burst in his eye slightly swollen with a VERY damaged Seraphina. Elaine, who had just healed Isen gasped and cried "Seraphina! What happened to you!?? And Blyke!". Remi stiffled a small sob as she quickly went to check on him and Isen just stared. Arlo barked at the people watching saying "What are you doing! Don't you have better things to do like study, and play!". The students all blushed and quickly went back to playing games though some went forward to help. Evie and Roland ran forward when suddenly, Arlo blocked them. "I SAID, GO MIND YOUR OWN BUISNESS." he growled. then someone tapped his shoulder. "Asslo stop being like that. Their Sera's friends!" cried Remi crossing her arms firmly. Then she weakly smiled at the two low-tiers and let them go see Seraphina. Arlo sighed again. He still wasn't used to the whole hierarchy ignorance gig and he absoutely dispised it. However, weeks with John as the leader and King, Arlo was SERIOUSLY having new thoughts about the 'Flawless System'. Blyke stumbled forward and said, Arlo.... I think we really need Elaine. Arlo blushed slightly at the mention of Elaine's name but nodded, as the heat went away from his cheeks. "Elaine." he called and then, as quick as lightning, Elaine appeared blushing, which Arlo thought was IMMENSELY CUTE. 'CUTE??' he thought as Elaine started healing Blyke and Seraphina. Arlo held the thought in his head before staring at Elaine. She had the scar when the creepy, distracting man had stabbed her and the slight small scratches that Zeke had given her. 

"Zeke did this didn't he." said Arlo making Seraphina jump. "Yeah..." said Blyke. " Blyke stopped him for inflicting damage onto me after I defeated his two mid-tier friends. Zeke was left on the floor bleeding hard and Blyke got A LOT of bruises..Thanks for caring I guess." answered Seraphina quickly. Arlo shrugged. " Be more careful next time." he replied before walking away and sitting on a chair. He was looking at Elaine trying to figure out his emotions for her when the realization hit him like  tidal wave. 'I-I'm in love with Elaine??!!'.

Hi guys! So I know I'm a BIT evil to do a cliffhanger like this but...I like suspense so oof. And Arlo does REALLY like Elaine but he's gonna be TOOOOOOO embraressed to admit it anytime soon.
