~ Lins POV ~
The doctors started by helping me stand with the aid of a walker in front of me. It really wasn't as hard as I expected! When I stood I felt my back tingle but it was nothing compared to the pain I had been dealing with.
They were very impressed by this so we decided to move on to walking already.
This was a lot more difficult but I did it well. My legs seemed like they had forgotten at first before I found my feet, literally! After they were back to normal i found it extremely hard to straighten up. This is what stopped me from walking just as I normally do.
I felt like giving up but one thing kept me determined to keep going and finally walk again. Groff. He was wearing an expression of pride and happiness the entire time and kept giving me words of encouragement or giving little gasps or squeals every time I improved even just a little.
I needed something to focus on to keep me going so I made this into some sort of game in my head. I made it my goal to work so hard that I got some sort of praise or encouragement from Groff. This took my mind of the pain and discomfort while I struggled to walk again.
I had to go back for a couple more sessions before the 3rd session where I had a break through.
Back at home me and Groff has taken the doctors advise and had been working on standing for a couple minuets every day.
Groff would help me up and stand in front of me holding my hands until I felt stable, I would then stand by my self, building up my strength more and more everyday.
We went into the room not knowing that this would finally be the last day with my chair. I stood by myself as I had been working on doing as the doctors aligned the two metal bars ahead of me.
I took my first few steps alone and managed to walk the entire way.
Groff gasped and started to cry as he watched me walk.
I proceeded to walk around the room and even sat back into my chair on my own.
After this the doctors told me I would be going home with crutches and I should use these whenever we went out but should work on my waking throughout the house. He also advised me not to stay active for to long during the day and stay resting for the majority.
We got into the car in about 20 seconds witch was a massive relief from our usual 5 minute struggle.
After a week of getting used to walking around the house we decided to go out and pay the cast a visit. We thought it would be great to play a trick on them so we hired a wheel chair and acted like nothing had changed.
Groff wheeled me into the theatre as we greeted our friends once again. We waited for the perfect moment before Groff got out a packet of candy and offered them to the cast. He was sitting on the sofa at the opposite side of the girls dressing room when I said,
"I'll have one!"
And proceeded to stand up from my chair and walk to Groff to get some candy.
There was a loud gasp followed by a room of complete silence until I had sat down next Groff on the sofa, taken some candy and turned to the cast asking,
"What happened? Are you all okay?"
This broke the silence as everyone stared to cheer and yell in happiness! They all ran to me and gingerly hugged me. Pippa, Renee and Jasmine all started to cry, and (to their dismay) were joined by Anthony and Leslie.
Lucky we had set up Groff's phone on the top of the mirror before the cast bustled into the room, to capture the entire scene of witch we later decided to post on twitter as a little surprise to the fans.
