"Damian." he looked up and her face was blank. His mouth was dry.

"Yes?" his voice was shaky.

"What did you say?" panic set his brain into overdrive.

"I said umm..... isn't it great that you are back?" she rose an eyebrow and crossed her arms, waiting. "Fine." he sighed and looked into her bluebell eyes. "I meant what I said, I love you." a loud high pitched squeal came from behind the door. Damain huffed and closed the curtains around the room.

"You- you mean it? No. That's impossible." she kept muttering things to herself. "he told me it was all a lie. It's all fake, all of it." Damian knit his eyebrows.

"Who? None of this is fake. Who said that?" his voice was laced with anger.

"J-Joker." Damian's eye twitched. He sat down. He took a deep breath.

"Marinette, the Joker is a liar. He did whatever he could to fuck with your brain, and break you even further than you could have ever been. He's done it to almost everybody in this house besides Father and Pennyworth." Marinette still stared into his face, looking for any lies she could see. He gently took her cheek. "Mari, I would never lie to you if I could help it. I mean every word I say. I swear on my life- no. I swear on your life because you mean more to me." a tear dripped down her cheek. He wiped it away with a kind smile.

"You're too much sometimes. You know that?" he chuckled.

"If you couldn't handle me, you wouldn't love me habibti." she scoot over and pulled him to the other side of the cot. He wrapped his arms around her small body, watching the IV cord. "Also, you have no idea how happy I am that you didn't rip the IV cord out like they do in the films. It's so unnecessary." laughter bubbled through her mouth and she curled up into his chest. The feeling was familiar. She sniffled. "You're home habibita. You're safe. I promise. I'm sorry I didn't get to tell you I loved you on that roof." she giggled.

"You stood there like a gaping fish." he laughed loudly, his voice echoing around the room.

"I am sorry though. You just left me speechless at the time. My mind was racing." she snorted and poked him in the cheek.

"Stop being smooth. It's also my fault for running away like I did. I should have just came back here to where Jason was. At least I wouldn't have been stupidly kidnapped. I'm such an idiot." he rubbed her arm.

"You are not an idiot. I'm the idiot. I made you ran away." she was about to protest when a loud voice cut them both off.

"You're BOTH idiots!" Bruce sat down in a chair across from them. Damian glared at his father but Bruce raised a hand. "You were both very, very stupid that night. Damian, you shouldn't have been out there with her while suited, as it makes her a target, and YOU Marinette, left without you're Miraculous! Now I'm not an expert, but I think it's quite ridiculous to walk around the streets of Gotham, unprotected with a target on your back!" his voice boomed around the room. Both kids were quiet. Bruce sighed. "I'm just glad you're both alright. Damian, if you don't sleep tonight, I will defidentally revoke Robin duties for a month. You haven't slept properly in two weeks!" Marinette whipped her head up at Damian.

"You haven't slept in two weeks?!?!? What the heck Damian?!?" Damian's face went red. He was about to say something, but she beat him to it. "And before you say something cheesy like 'I was waiting for you!' or 'I couldn't sleep because I was worried about you!' or you try to make up an excuse, why the hell did you not sleep?!?!" Damian glared at Bruce from across the room. "Oh don't you dare get angry at Bruce! This is your own fault! What do you have to say for yourself?!?!"
