Broken Love

He said he loved you, he claimed to stay by you

He said he cared for you, said he would respect you

He made promises

All of the vows are broken, and your left crippled

No one can help you No one can save your injured heart

You wallow in pools of tears, sleep from pure exhaustion

Waking up to the same nightmare of the broken reality you must call life

Stumbling and falling you make the effort to put back the pieces of your heart

Only for it to fall apart when you see his face

Eyes bloodshot, and filled with tears, you run and hide.

There is no comfort, no paradise on the earth, no comfort in your home.

Failing to become sane, to become decent,

You write a letter with shaky hands, tears rolling down your face to the paper.

Rolling the paper and leaving it on the desk, you walk to the kitchen and grab the knife

The knife that will end your life, your soul, and broken heart.

Your last thought runs through your head,

Love, a trick of the mind, a trick of the heart, a trick of the soul.
