My eyes fluttered open to be met with the warm sun beaming through the drapes of my window. I took a deep breath and stretched out my arms and legs while still staying in the comforts of my bed. I let out a long peaceful sigh as I relaxed myself and rolled over to see my boyfriend peacefully sleeping alongside me.
His bare chest that peeked out from under the covers would rise and fall with every sleepy breath. His hair was tousled and stuck up in every direction making him look ridiculous. I debated for a second whether I should take a photo of him or not. I chuckled softly at these thoughts and shook my head deciding not to. I swung my legs over the edge of the bed, letting the sheets that once covered me fall beside my hips. I made sure to be careful not to wake him with my movement.
A cool breeze from the ceiling fan hit my skin sending chills down my body. Without my blankets, I was just stuck with my underwear. I quickly stood up and wrapped a robe around my half-naked body to keep myself warm then made my way out of the bedroom into the dark halls. I blindly looked for the light switch but decided I couldn't be bothered with lights.
My bare feet slapped against the hardwood floors with every step I made. I quickly rounded the corners into the kitchen and automatically began filling up the kettle with some water. I thought that it would be a nice surprise to Ollie if I had made him some breakfast. So as soon as I put the kettle on, I was quick to grab some bread from it's plastic home and shoved them into the toaster oven. The old thing clacked as I tried to push the lever down making me cringe. "This is probably a fire hazard." I mumbled putting my hands on my hips and stared down at the pathetic thing.
I shook my head at it, tearing my attention away from it, and walked to the fridge to retrieve some things for breakfast like eggs and sausages. I then placed them down on the large counter beside the stove and began prepping for a delicious breakfast. I set down a large pan and cut open the package of sausages before dumping most of them into the pan. I was no chef but I knew the basics of how to cook certain things. I kicked on the heat and slowly started to hearing a satisfying sizzle. The smell of savory sausage began wafting through the house giving almost a comforting feeling.
I cracked some eggs and began cooking them just the way he liked them. I almost forgot to put a bit of pepper over the eggs. I was quick to grab the shaker and sprinkle some pepper over them to give them more flavor. I worked quickly making sure nothing was burning but making sure to take my time to make everything taste well. As I began plating everything, I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around my waist hugging me close. I jumped a little then relaxed knowing it was just a sleepy Oliver who snuck his way out into the kitchen.
"Good Morning hun." I chimed turning to face him in his embrace. "Morning." His voice was still husky from just waking up. He shot a sleepy grin down upon me before pecking my forehead making heat rise to my cheeks. Even though we had been dating for a year, his small romantic gestures always made me blush.
"What'd you make?" He tried peeking around me to see what I made. "Oh well..." As I spoke, I turned back around to face the food."Just some eggs, sausage, and toast." Suddenly the kettle started to whistle and whine as steam poured out of its spout. "Oh and tea." I chuckled looking back over at him. He laughed at me and gave my head a pat.
"I'll get the tea ready, you go ahead and set the table." He finally let go of me to take care of the tea. I gave him one last loving smile before placing the plates and silverware on the table. I gave us each a piece of toast and the proper toppings for the both of us. Oliver walked over with two cups of hot tea and gently placed them beside both of our plates. "Thank you for helping dear." I stood on my tiptoes to give his cheek a small peck.
"No- thank you for making all of this. I probably wouldn't have fed myself if you weren't here." I chuckled at his statement as he wrapped an arm around my waist, pressing my body up against his. "Good thing I'm here then." He grinned down at me and gently placed his finger under my chin before placing a gentle kiss upon my lips.
After we parted I let out a giggle and swatted his arm. "Stop being romantic, our food is getting cold." He smiled and rolled his eyes at me before letting go and sitting at the table. I joined him and began eating our food,as we had a mostly silent breakfast. By the time all of our food was gone, Oliver was properly awake and perky once more.
"We should go out today. Take a swing by the shops." Oliver took a long sip of tea before gently setting the cup back down on the table. I thought about his offer for a moment as I traced the rim of my own cup with my finger. "Yeah, that sounds nice." I looked up and gave him a smile. "Brilliant. I will take care of these." He returned it lovingly before starting to pick up our empty plates and walking them over to our sink. I smiled and watched him walk off before getting up myself.
"Ollie, dear, I am going to go change." I walked up to him and carefully placed a kiss to his jaw. I turned to leave him and go change when I felt him grab my robe. As I turned to face him, my robe loosened enough to expose myself. "Oliver." My tone was close to a mother scolding her child. He looked down at me with a ridiculous grin as I tried to cover myself back up.
"You do know I have seen you naked. Countless times." He raised his brows up at me, his grin spreading into a wide smile. I rolled my eyes at him and smacked his bicep. "I don't want to be nude in front of the bread." I made him let go so I could walk away from him, leaving him to burst out into a fit of laughter.
"That has to be the lamest excuse you have ever used." He called out to me. I couldn't help but smile and shake my head at the situation. He wasn't wrong, it was the worst excuse I could come up with.
