Seijoh High School
"Okay l/n, it's your turn to serve." The coach called, handing you a volleyball.
You've completed measurements and receives, now all that was left was to serve.
Everyone's attention was on you. The other first years had already completed try outs and were waiting on the sidelines.
You turned the volleyball in your hands, it felt great to be on court again. Even if this wasn't an actual game, you were still standing on court, a net outstretched in front of you, people watching from the railings and benches.
Closing your eyes, you think back to Oikawa's analysis.
Tooru's serve focuses on power and aim, my play style causes the ball to have more spin. Tooru uses his entire arm, while I focus more power on my wrist.
You exhaled, opening your eyes. You toss the ball up. You stepped forward, shifting your weight on your legs, jumped, and spiked. You made sure to put an extra spin on the serve, just to be flashy.
You heard the ball slam onto the other side of the court before your feet even touched the floor.
Hm, I think I improved on speed too.
"WOAH- WHAT WAS THAT?!" You turned your head to see shaved-head-kun watching you in amazement.
You grin, smug, and glance behind him to see a third year had spit out his drink and Yahaba was opened-mouthed. Even Eyeliner-kun, who always had his eyebrows furrowed, was shocked, looking at you in surprise.
"That- so fast!" The coaches were wide eyed, smiling at you.
"Y/n-chan, awesome!" Oikawa comes up to high-five you, which you recuperate.
"Thanks, Tooru! Part of it was thanks to watching your games."
A third year barely regained his composure, eyes still wide in shock as he laughs. "L/n and Oikawa both have such monstrous serves! It's like there are two Oikawas on the team now!"

The sky changes from a clear blue to a bright orange as the sun hovers over the mountain range. Practice had ended and Iwazumi, Oikawa and you were walking home. It was starting to get chilly as the three of you walked home, talking about the other club members.
"Did you see Eyeliner-kun though? When measuring his vertical, it looked like he was going to break the wall!" You relayed your observations to the two, who chuckled.
"Eyeliner-kun? You mean Kyoutani?" Iwazumi eyed you, smirking. "Nicknaming is definitely not your forte."
"Well thanks a lot, what did Tooru name him?" The two of you turn to Oikawa, who just shrugged.
"It's not like I name everyone, so Kyoutani-kun is just Kyoutani-kun."
"I bet you Tooru will start calling him some weird nickname by next month."
Iwazumi nodded. "Agreed."
"Hey! My nicknames aren't weird! Besides, y/n-chan, I call you normally!"
"I'm glad you do." You think of all the nicknames that Oikawa could come up with, concluding that it's better to leave it alone.
"But I wanna try and block Kyoutani's spikes... I can imagine the look of surprise on his face when I do!" You smirk at the thought, grinning to yourself.
"Y/n, you two are going to be teammates, not enemies." You roll your eyes at Iwazumi's words.
"Yeah yeah Hajime, but still! Y'know how I love seeing people's spirits crushed as I block them~" You hum and continue walking, hearing Oikawa and Iwazumi sigh behind you.
"You sound so evil saying things like that, y/n-chan! Maybe if you started smiling more sincerely then you'd be able to get a fan-"
His lecture was interrupted by your phone's ringtone, pulling it from your pocket you saw it was your aunt calling you. You frown slightly, wondering what's wrong.
"Hello?" You say, pulling the phone up to your ear.
"Y/n?" It's your aunt.
"Yeah?"
"So uh... do you have any money on you?"
You tilt you head in confusion. "Of course, I have my wallet."
You hear a loud sigh of relief from the other end. "Okay, good... so like... can you buy a train ticket?"
You pause. "Auntie, what did you do?"
"I might've gotten a little drunk and ended up in another town... also I lost my wallet."
"Auntie-" Sighing, you shook your head in disappointment. "I'll come get you, hold on."
"Thank you sweetie! I'm at t/n (town name), I'll be waiting for you at the stores! Ack! My phone is at one percent, gotta go."
"Kay, try not to crash into anything." You hang up, wondering why your parents left you in her care, and turn towards Iwazumi and Oikawa.
"My aunt got lost in another town, I have to go get her." You put your phone in your pocket while the two trail behind you.
"Do you want us to come with you? It's late." Oikawa walks behind you, eyebrows knitted in worry.
"I'll be fine, the sun hasn't set yet. Besides, I'll be traveling by train so it won't take too long."
"Still-"
"It's fine~ you two are busy aren't you? I know Hajime has that family reunion because he's been complaining about it for the past week."
Iwazumi only grunts in response.
"I'm capable of going somewhere by myself, if some creep comes up to me I'll be sure to spike their faces in!"
Oikawa nods. "Though that is pretty graphic, I think that'll be a logical answer, and I do need to be somewhere right now. Be sure to call if anything happens!"
"I know, see you guys tomorrow!" Waving your good byes, you walk to the train station.
